Flipping through this month’s Connecticut Cottages & Gardens, I came across a mind blowing talent. 17 year old Sam Allen, that’s right…17, is already mixing it up in the design world. He’s heading off to FIT in the fall to study interior design, but it looks like he’s already got an “A+” on his first solo project.
Check out this room he created, one of three rooms above a garage, for 3 sisters. The orange and hot pink pop against the chocolate brown walls. White trim and accents keep it fresh. Who wouldn’t love making music and hanging out in here? You can see the full article and all the rooms here.

- Kartell Lucite stool ~ All Modern
What color palette would you use to decorate a play space for your children?
What a cutie-pie! I do love keeping the walls a classic color, brown, navy, camel, khaki or gray – like menswear classics with color accents.
I am loving blue now, navy would be great or a steel blue denim sort of color for the walls with pops of fresh color…an American flag, the pledge framed and of course a Map of the world hung.
I love red white and blue and travel.

I saw this article and saved it. Amazing!
17?! Amazing! My son's favorite color has always been orange and my daughter is a blue/ green kind of girl. I love what he did with the orange and pink. Can't wait to see what he does in the future…
Love the idea of the pledge framed – red, white and blue, too! We hope to create a new play space above our garage for our boys and that could be really cute!
I love the orange and pink. Sooo fun! Now I just need girls so that I can do an orange and pink room! 😉
Traci – I hear you! I've succeeded in getting orange in my house and pink (shocked my manly man let me do that) but not together! 🙂
Sam is so sweet!!!! It's AMAZING what he could!!!
