One month from today, air travel willing (will that volcano EVER settle down?!), we will be arriving in Paris!! Since we are traveling with small children, I am trying to be realistic about what we will actually see each day. And, I’m a bit overwhelmed by all we can see and do, but here’s what we’ll try to do for sure:
We’re heading here for sure on Day 1!
Gargoyles and the Rose Window at Notre Dame!
All the proceeds from this little shop go to charity!
Mona is a must, right?!
Drinks here at the Bar du Plaza (Plaza Athenee), sans children.
We’ll let the boys sail boats in Luxembourg Gardens – luckily close to where we’re staying. We’ll probably venture over every day so they can just be kids and not have to “sight see”.
My little artists will enjoy the Pompidou, inside and out!
And at the rate the Euro is dropping….I might just get to do more than window shop along the Champs-Elysees and Rue du Faubourg St. Honore! Hermes, here I come!!!
Do you have a recommendation for me….that’s off the beaten track?
xo, Elizabeth
ps: Another great give away announced tomorrow!
I love, love, LOVE Paris! Of course you must go to Laduree for Macaroons (I like so many but the Jasmin mango is very delicate and fresh, Chocolate you can't go wrong), but for a nice date night if you can get away:
La Petite Chaise
36 rue de Grenelle
75007 Paris
Tel : 01 42 22 13 35
It's the oldest restaurant in Paris, great food and awesome ambiance. Have a wonderful time!
Bon Voyage!

Amy, thank you so much!!! I'm adding them to my list right now! Merci!
I don't know if you've seen the new In Style with Salma Hayek on it but she is living in Paris right now and she has a list of her favorite places there to visit. A darling place for sweets and chocloate on the list. The boys may enjoy 🙂 xoxo'

Are you reading This Is Paris to your boys? Love that series! So jealous of your upcoming trip! Hermes and ALL!
sounds like you have all of the big places covered…though i always make sure to stop at Laduree for desserts!

Wonderful ideas — Laduree sounds like a must do. I believe that's on Salma's list.
We have been reading This is Paris — and my son's French teacher has been doing an amazing job of preparing him!
you are so *lucky*!!!
Enjoy!
The absolute best fleamarket to me is at Porte de Vanves (ecah weekend). I have included the link for information about location, opneing hours etc.
Enjoy!

A must is the monoprix, the french store, sort of woolworth/duane reade, but everything looks so different in another language. I have found the best undies there! There are also lots of little treats and souvenirs to bring home!

ooooo this sounds so wonderful… esp the boys floating the boats in the gardens… that is truly a special memory you will all enjoy (ok, hermes too!) he he
cannot wait to hear all about it! xx pam
Have the happiest of birthdays in Paris!!!! I am sooo jealous. It was my dream for my 50th….but it wasn't to be….c'est la vie! I will have fond memories from my last trip to cary me through until the next. You will have a wonderful time!
Mariska – thank you for the link!!!!!
PVE – I'm a CVS junkie so this sounds divine!
Pam – I think the boys floating boats will enable me to take a deep breath and take it all in!
Katiedid — thank you — it's on a Monday. But, a Monday in Paris isn't like a Monday in NY! 🙂 The view and the coffee (aka creme) will be better!!!
La Fête de la Musique is on June 21st. It is a wonderful evening to be in Paris and to just walk around the city (i.e., don't plan any big restaurant reservations for this night). Have a wonderful time.
PS My friend forwarded your blog to me and I love it!
Take a look at fat bike tours online…..we did the Versailles tour. I believe they have bike seats for the little ones. It is such a great way to see the city— do it early in your stay b/c you will find a ton of places you will want to revisit. Have fun!
