My 2 boys share a bathroom. And with the exception of the shower curtain…it’s basically the same as when we moved in nearly 4 years ago. Nothing ever caught my fancy. Until…..this.
Whales. But not just any whales. These whales are having fun! Just like bath time should be!
I came across Little Whales by Walnut Wallpaper in the July/August issue of House Beautiful.
The wallpaper was paired with an apple green chest — a great color, I think, to embroider “Ahoy Boys” on a white shower curtain.
And for towels….Pottery Barn Kids already has one with my son’s name on it! As well as this Fisherman’s Sconce — the better to see to brush their teeth!
Perusing White Flower Farmhouse, a favorite new website, I came across this old white life preserver. Great to hang on the wall. Just in case a boy or a rubber duckie goes “overboard”!
I’m not sure they’ll be squeaky clean, but they should enjoy bath time! It’s the next best thing to….bedtime!

First of all, the changes to your blog are wonderful!
As far as ideas for you boys bathroom, an old (well sanded) boat oar would make a fabulous towel bar or curtain rod if there is a window! A little something rustic with all the fresh elements and whale wallpaper.

I can totally relate to this post! 2 boys, sharing a bathroom and moved in just under 4 years ago as well! I am loving that paper, I'm in the mood to wallpaper anything right now 🙂 As far as design ideas for the bathroom, i've learned that getting the coordinating hand towel to the main staged towels and embroidered 2nd layer is basically pointless. I'm always having to switch it out or if it gets washed it basically never the same shade again. So I always buy a non-matching, but equally stylish hand towel that meshes with the overall look. The boys can wipe their grubby hands and faces all day long and I am free to let it be! I hope this post makes sense.. 🙂
