Many of us know this house – it was the one that Marija built. She built it with love and thought and patience. Much like she built her blog, Holding Court, which so many of us visited daily.
Though I knew her for only a short period of time, I was drawn to her, her words, her photos and her views. And, had looked forward to meeting her in person, as she was planning a trip to New York.
I’ve spent the past couple of days going back and learning more about this talented woman — wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend — who will be missed by so many.
I know you had so much more to share, and for those who didn’t get a chance to get to know you, here it is, in your own words.

Prayers for her family. This is a lovely tribute.
Very beautiful post for Marija– such a wonderful writer, designer and person!
thanks for linking back to her first post. that was a lovely thing to do…
This week, I have been grappling with trying to understand why a life so lovely has ended. What a lovely tribute to a wonderful lady.

Very sweet and great that you let her words finish you thoughts 🙂
I was speechless when I read her blog. I hadn't visited there much but was at a lost for words when I stumbled upon her blog last night. I can't stop thinking about how that could have been me, or anyone. Her family is beautiful, as was she.
Elizabeth, thanks for this beautiful tribute. I didn't see it before.
Yes Marija was beautiful and will be sorely missed.
My prayers are with her family and close friends.
