But, sometimes they can feel a little stodgy. Not so on these beautiful fashionistas.
Hermes, in collaboration with the famed avant garde Paris boutique, Collette, is bringing new life to these scarves with limited editions which will go on sale at Collette from Sept 27- October 16th. Anyone going to Paris then??!!
Since July, Hermes has been traveling the globe (New York, Paris, London and Tokyo) with 4 girls wearing their scarves in new and bold ways and chronicling it in the website, www.jaimemoncarre.com. Translated it means…I Love My Scarf!
ps: For the record, I usually wear my Hermes scarves rolled up and tied as a belt through the belt loops on my pants!
I have amassed quite a collection over the years as I just love them for the design, and always tie them fashioned after a friend who lived in Paris and showed me how the Parisians wear them – now I would love that book and the tunes to add flair to my dressing up!
Thanks for the fun giveaway!

I could "scarf" them up to! I always want to do the head band look, just like that adorable picture, but I never feel like it looks just right! I will have to try the belt thing 🙂 And as for the giveaway, I hope it herMEs!! That's so forward thinking of you to pick up and extra copy!!!
After a summer where the weather has been amazing, I don't feel jipped by the summer months ending. I'm now thinking of fall fashions…boots, warm sweaters and jackets.
Although I don't have any Hermes scarves, I have collected many Ferragamo scarves. Like you, I wear mine as a belt, along with the traditional drape over a coat, and tied w/ insouciance around my neck.
A Hermes scarf is on my Wish list.
Thanks for the thoughtful giveaway.
Best wishes.
I have never been able to do the "scarf" look very well…but after reading your post…may give it another try…especially if it is a Hermes scarf:)
Love your new signature line!
I am definitely a scarf person—–especially the beautiful Hermes creations. I received my first and still favorite one selected by my family with Elizabeth giving the lead suggestion for my Christmas gift many years ago. My collection grew. The newest, a gift for my 70th birthday, came from Elizabeth—-you guess the color—-gorgeous pink! Soon I am off to Eastern Europe. My sole accessories are a couple of Hermes scarfs. Don't forget to try tying one on a dressy hand bag to feel and look as special as your are. Mothers learn so much from daughters (and sons).
Love the new signature, Elizabeth.

There is nothing more chic than a scarf when worn well! I have never managed to pull it off but always love the look! Great giveaway! I love the Sartorialist!!
I love my H scarf! I told hubby last night I will be sniffing about for another one come Xmas time lol! He didn't balk at my current wish list so either he is comfy with it or getting better at hiding his fear.
I am a follower…I just added you but I have had you in my blog roll since the day you started your pretty blog :O)
I got my first Hermes scarf on my 30th Birthday. I received my second one for Christmas a few years ago. I remember wearing it as a halter top a few times and like you I loved using it as a belt! My second one is a more modern tie style that came in small orange tube of sorts and is great to tie onto your handbag or belt loop, headband and of course around the neck. I haven't been using them lately and now I'm feeling the love again after this post of yours,
Thanks Elizabeth!
I love your scarves too!
And you can please send me any you grow tired of.

Good Morning, all you fashionistas!
Love hearing what you're wearing, H or not! They really are works of art, like Patricia (pve) mentioned. And….like Terri at La Dolfina, I received my first one at age 30! They have become little treasures that update an outfit.
Mom, you'll look great scooting around Europe in your black punctuated with those gorgeous scarves.
Stay Stylish whatever you're wearing!
xoxo Elizabeth
All so chic, and we've seen firsthand your belted scarves! What are we wearing this fall? Barbers and riding boots, cashmere sweaters and school boy caps!

I wish I had a Hermes scarf:) I have seen some really great scarf artwork. (The scarves are stretched out and framed). I am loving shirt dress with a cinched belt for the fall, or a scarf:) –Gretchen O.
You can never go wrong with an Hermes scarf, I don't care how stuffy people think they are! Classic chic! And I NEED to win this, too funny, I was going to pick up a copy of this book for a friend for her birthday, which is Sept. 10, MAYBE I'll win, that would be fab! Great giveaway! Of course I follow! XX!
me too! I have the black, white and gold zodiac that is my absolute favorite go to–great post! xx

Thanks, Tiffany! The book looks great — and I did not know about it. Thank you for sharing the link!
Goodness, HOW
much fun is THIS?!

This fall I'd love
to get a tweedy
jacket to throw on
with jeans and a
dashing scarf or
strands of my favorite
necklaces all thrown
on together….
That look could go
from PTO meeting to
dinner at our local
pub to a movie with
Mr. Privet. Thanks
for the chance and
of course, I FOLLOW!

I've always loved scarves, whether they're "in" or not. Have enjoyed the long ones the last few years as soooo many ways to wear them. When I was thin, I liked the triangle at the waist…won't be doing that this fall I'm afraid!
Great giveaway.
