On a warm summer night, Grant and I went on a different kind of date.
This date required us to show up at a party where we didn’t know a soul, in a place we’d never been and to get our hands a little messy. Our date night was attending the Grilled Pizza class at Sunday Suppers.
Delicious food and wine, engaging company, a new experience…all atop a Brooklyn rooftop, with the NYC skyline just behind. Going out for pizza sure has new meaning now!
Have you had a memorable date?

How fun! I think couples who "play" together, "stay" together! Lovely and fun dates help!

Sounds like MY
kind of date, as
I love taking cooking
classes and this one
looked delicious!
We have parties this
weekend for my husband's
high school class reunion.
NOT my favorite kind of
date, but I'll put on
a happy face….
xx Suzanne
Oh, sounds like a fun and creative date!! My husband and I had a surprise dinner date last night when my dinner plans with a friend fell thru (due to her child not feeling well)…it was so nice to have an impromtu dinner and drinks out with my husband!
Grant is such a good sport. You do the coolest things, and the whole evening sounds amazing!
That sounds like so much fun. How many people were there? How many grills did they have set up? The setting sounds perfect too.
Susan
What a fun experience.
love this post! cooking together is so bonding and it looks like you all had such a fantastic time
I have reading about this school everywhere. Dying to go!!
xx,
Kate
What fun! I'd go in a heartbeat. The pizza looks delicious!
What fun! I bet the setting really made it special!
How fun – my hubby and I love to cook together and then dine on what we've made. I'm looking forward to a fashionable "girly" date night tonight!
xxoo
It sounds perfect!
I've been meaning to ask you if you were on the Nate show last week because I'm sure I saw a close up of your beautiful face in the audience! I was watching with my Mom and suddenly exclaimed, Hey, that's my friend Elizabeth!! Was I right?
Also thank you so much for your sweet comment about taking our son off to college. You're the best.
Love you!!!
Amazing party…how fun! You know I am loving the pizza cutter with the Merci tag and the sauce in the Ball jar 🙂
Sounds like fun! "Activity" dates are always great.
Hi everyone,
Thank you for your comments! In answer to "Days" question…they had one large grill set up and Grant, as well as others took turns practicing with the dough on the grill. There were probably 20 people there. All walks of life…so it was a really fun experience. Different ages, different professions. Singles. Marrieds. Mother/daughters. If you are looking for a unique experience I highly recommend it!
And…Terri (La Dolfina), I've heard that from others…but I haven't had a chance to watch them so I'm not sure if it was me. I was actually on the 2nd row, on the end. There were several close ups of our group though!!
Happy Day everyone!
Elizabeth
Oh, how fun! I love doing active things together, Mr. Deer and I met on the tennis courts and we still play, that's one of my favorite dates. Also, he's a good shopper, so a shopping date is fun, too! XX!
Now THAT sounds like my kind of fun…how nice to BOTH be meeting people for the first time…I bet the pizza was good to. –Gretchen O.
That sounds so fun! Glad you had the opportunity to go! I'd love to do something similar with my fiance sometime!
Sounds like a fun date….we were scheduled to do a cooking class and wine flight back in Feb but I had such bad morning sickness we had to cancel. I am not sure if my husband was entirely disappointed but I could see him really getting into this one!
That supper party seems like alot of fun. Something different always shakes it up abit!
I am always looking for new date night ideas; SF is always game to do these kinds of things. Looks like it was a great night!
Best,
Colleen
Since we don't live by family anymore and I won't leave my children with anyone…dates are unfortunately a little more rare than I'd like them to be. With that said, my husband has always been wonderful in planning a trip we take every year. It's usually tropical in nature (last one was Barbados) and we have family come in and stay for the week we are gone. So my long story short is, we do our date night all in one week in a year 🙂 Love the pizza date, how cute are y'all??!! XO, Kelly
I am so jealous! What a beautiful and delicious evening!!
