Today I am thinking pink – in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. And, though I thought of many ways to bring pink into the picture today, I came back to wanting to share bright and happy images to begin your weekend.
The Royal Hawaiian on the glorious Waikiki beachfront is literally the pinkest resort I’ve ever seen. So much so that it was worth mentioning here…today!
The hotel recently emerged from a complete renovation. Yet, bears an illustrious history. Founded in 1927, it was the playground of the rich and famous. A young Shirley Temple made quite a stir while staying there in the 1930s, as she strummed the ukulele on the beach. Not surprisingly, the Shirley Temple cocktail was invented at the hotel.
Hawaii holds a special place in my heart. It’s where I became engaged….and one of these days I hope to return. Perhaps I can sip pink champagne at the Pink Palace!
My pretty pink thanks to Philpotts Interiors and photographer, Art Gray for allowing me to share these pictures and the news of this fantastic make-over!!
Whatever you do today….think pink!
Very, very cool! The hotel…most especially for the part about your engagement there and the 1st thoughts of being a "blushing" bride!! I can only imagine how gorgeous all the details were at your big day 🙂 Lovely tribute to the month that saves lives!! XO, Kelly
I named your home, "House of Pretty Pink Tulips" – or
House of Pretty" – because you are always sharing such pretty things, I blush!!!
Follow the pink!

The pretty pink hotel is beautiful. One must smile just looking at it. And to become engaged there would be joyous!
Thank you for sharing a lovely pink post.
What a pretty hotel! We honeymooned in Hawaii, its so special to me as well! My kids love to order Shirley Temples when we go out to dinner…they asked me if I thought it was funny that the young actress was named after their favorite drink! LOL…I had to explain their mistake, and now I can show them where it was invented as well! 🙂
Have a great weekend!
xx
Thank you so, so much!
Lovely images of pink! How special that all of the pink prettiness reminds you of your engagement. Enjoy your weekend…see you next week!

Wow! I had no idea about the Shirley Temple that I practically grew up on. Lovely post!
Lovely photos-
My monkeys love to order Shirley Temples when we go out to dinner- It's funny that it has retained it's popularity even though their generation is not familar with the actress.
Nice to meet you!
I still love Shirley Temples! So retro!
This hotel looks TDF! Hawaii has never appealed to me but if I went to this hotel I could get excited about it lol!
Have a faboo weekend!
Aloha. Thank you so much for posting the Royal Hawaiian Resort. It was an honor to renovate a wonderful hotel with rich history in our living culture. We'll share the post with our staff and community supporters.

Elizabeth, just getting caught back up after being away on our buying trip for eight days. You have had some great posts. I'm pretty exhausted right now and that pink champagne in Hawaii is sounding real good!!! XO, Mona
Beautifully PINK! Pink champagne would be delish, while looking at a pinkish orange sunset. –Gretchen O.
I'm going to have to think about a pink post. I used to have so much pink in my house with 3 girls, I would divide the laundry by darks, lights, and pinks!
Best,
Liz
Such pretty pictures and good of you to Think Pink. Hope you have a great weekend.
