Barely a month into writing this blog, Jessica Mindich, the creator of Jewelry for a Cause, kindly sent me her new Pink Buddha necklace. I was so touched for many reasons. I wrote then about my wonderful yoga teacher, Janet, who is a breast cancer survivor. I truly think of her whenever I wear my necklace.
Pink Buddha is seated in the position of dispelling fear. Pink can be strong when it needs to be. Just like women.
Like all of Jessica’s jewelry, part of the proceeds of this necklace go to charity. The charity it supports is the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
According to Dr. Susan Love, guru of breast cancer research, we have come a long way in awareness. However, we need to find a cure. So, let’s not let the conversation end…when October ends. Let’s keep it alive. So that more woman will live…and live longer.
Recently, Jessica made good on her promise to send me some more Pink Buddha necklaces to give away during October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I have 3 of them.
So, please leave a comment by Friday night. I’ll randomly select 3 winners and announce them next Monday morning. Wear it yourself or give it to your mother, your sister, your daughter, a friend….or someone you barely know who may need some support.
As a friend recently wrote me, “Remember, there’s no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple with no logical end” ~ Scott Adams
Together, let’s create a ripple…pinky promise?
