Cleopatra seemed so timely. Did you know she was the last queen of Egypt?
Elizabeth Taylor as Cleopatra circa 1963
With Egypt leading the headlines this past month, stepping back in time to learn more about this country and its most alluring and elusive leader, Cleopatra seemed appropriate.
She was married twice, each time to a brother. Her two lovers were Julius Caesar and Mark Antony, both of whom fathered her children.
She lived less than 40 years, but her reign and her reputation are infamous.
If you’re looking for a good read to while away these last few weeks of winter…join me in reading Cleopatra, written by Pulitzer Prize winning author, Stacy Schiff.
