This week everyone is thinking about, talking about and waiting for….royalty, so I thought it was only appropriate to highlight Flea Market Royalty!
That’s right, I’m talking about Eddie Ross & Jaithan Kochar. This story comes to us by means of my cousin, Elizabeth. Yes, born only 4 months apart, our mothers happened to like the same name. Elizabeth Ann (her) and Elizabeth Ashley (me). Moving right along.
Knowing that the princes of porcelain and price haggling were coming to Roundtop, Elizabeth signed up for their Flea Market Tour. Not only did she have a memorable day, she snagged a couple of amazing items that Eddie pointed out.
These amethyst lamps just need a new set of shades to light up her home!
Elizabeth scored HUGE with this next purchase. Dorothy Thorpe punchbowl and glasses….for a whopping $36. Thorpe’s glassware was a huge hit in her heyday of the 1930s-1950s. Yet, frequent appearances on the cult classic, Mad Men, in the offices of Sterling Cooper have driven up the value and desirability of her work.
That may be why Jaithan recently saw this same punchbowl priced at $1000 at Bergdorf Goodman. Really.
Wow, all of the sudden I want a cup of punch along with that bowl. Growing up in Kentucky, punch was always served. Love that Eddie, Jaithan and your cousin were able to connect and scout and score big time!

What a happy day for your cousin! I'll bet the two of you have great times when you're together!
Best,
Susan
What great finds!! I just love the punch bowl – that would certainly be the centerpiece of any party presentation!!
Me too!! That would be so much fun! Take care, Caroline
The only way I would know a good deal at a flea market would be with these princes by my side… Your cousin definitely found some treasures!
xxoo
I can't get over these scores, wow! I never go to flea markets…looks like I am missing out big time!
All hail the kings! Amazing score of finds for your cousin. I'd join E&J's entourage as I don't know the gems from the junk.
xo Cathy
What a score! How much fun your cousin must have had. I would love to head to the flea with such royalty as Eddie and Jaithan. A girlfriend and I have been talking about wanting to go to Roundtop, maybe we should sign up for one of Eddie and Jaithan's tours!
Happy Wednesday!!!
Jeanne
I wanted to go to Roundtop and sign up to tour with J & E so bad, but didn't really want to go alone. Here I'm just an hour away darn it. Elizabeth 'Ann' is adorable and what a score indeed. I love the punchbowl and punchbowls conjure up fun memories.
Happy Wed. Elizabeth Ashley!
That punch bowl and glass set is to die for, and what a steal! When I was little I used to hate going to flea markets or antique stores with my parents, but now I love all the cool finds and deals you can get!
Your cousin is adorable!!
Great finds and how fabulous for her to spend some time with your best friends!!!!
xo
I had a blast with E & J! They were fabulous hosts that made the flea market experience so much fun. I highly recommend Roundtop-it is amazing. Now I need Mad Men to start up so I can toast the cast with Champagne Punch! And a special toast to Eddie, Jaithan and cousin Elizabeth Ashley!
Elizabeth Ann
Eddie and Jaithan are most definitely Flea Market Royalty. I was sick to miss Roundtop this time. Really wanted to meet up with them again. Mona
Your cousin is adorable. What great finds! And to meet Eddie and Jaithan. Wow! They've been in our area doing a few events, and each time I've missed them. Someday..
hugs ~lynne~
How fun would it be for all of us here (new and old friends alike) to get together for champagne punch, served in Elizabeth's new piece?
Great post, Elizabeth!

Eddie + Jaithan
Definitely flea market royalty to me after that post. You are so funny.
That is too much that you and your cousin are both Elizabeths! How much fun for her to go flea marketing with the two princes! I love the punch bowl, it's beyond amazing. The Hamptons yard sale season is starting up, I may need to make some pit stops!

Great post!! I am so jealous..I can only imagine scoring those lamps!!
Great finds! What a lucky girl she is! I'd go flea-market hunting with them anytime!
I just love those two, aren't they the best guys ever!?
I will never forget my first meeting them here in Alameda Calif. Boy was that a special day. Eddie is the King of Bargain hunting, that is for sure, plus talented and just a sweet sweet man. Love the punch bowl. I have some glasses rimmed in silver that would go really well with that beauty, Kathysue
