Mark Rozzo, Newel Turner, Dara Caponigro & Beth Greene
Yesterday was a really good day.
Welcomed into the hallowed halls of Hearst Publishing, we began with a scrumptious lunch.
Next we listened to a panel discussion led by Blogfest 2011 creator, Beth Greene of Kravet and Lee Jofa with Editor-in-Chief Newell Turner from House Beautiful, Editor-in-Chief Dara Caponigro from Veranda and Editor-at-Large Mark Rozzo from Town & Country about the changing landscape of digital and print media.
We watched as Veranda demonstrated how to style a shoot and learned how the “aesthetic movement” of the late 19th century influenced the original House Beautiful, where the buzzwords today are “happy and beautiful”.
Town & Country hosted a lovely cocktail reception where they discussed how the social and cultural forces that influence our day to day lives have been chronicled by the magazine since 1846, yet the magazine continues to innovate and evolve. Look for them to feature more activity based covers in the future, beginning with the upcoming issue.
The day wrapped up at the Elle Decor Modern Life Concept House Tour and Cocktail Party…where highlights were the kitchen designed by Grant Gibson (take out menu wallpaper) and the bedroom by Sarah Story (loved the fabric above on The New Traditionalist daybed).
Today we head over to the D&D Building for more exciting events.
