Right before Mother’s Day, I invited a small group of friends to lunch at my house.
Just an excuse to get together, use the Leontine Linen napkins and the tablecloth that Eddie & Jaithan had used to decorate their “wow” table for our event last November.
My 6 year old had accidentally locked the powder bath door the morning of the luncheon….and I had to attend his Kindergarten concert, so my picture taking time was greatly reduced. Just a reminder that you have to be prepared for anything when entertaining….or know which friend to call! Thanks, J!
Above are just some snippets of what was a lovely mid day escape with some women I truly adore!
The last image is one of the many darling hostess gifts I received.
I can't decide what I like most, your pretty table, the fact that you care so much to host a lovely lunch with your friends or the fact that your son locked the powder bath door. I can see you handling it all, grace under pressure, smiling and looking pretty!

Lovely photos! The powder room door locking episode? I need to know more! I'm sure it was a day to remember!:)
Love the tablecloth. Lunch w/ friends = happiness. xo
Locking the powder room door is not something I would've planned for… but given that you're the hostess with the mostest, I'm sure your guests never guessed! Lovely flowers!

Good Morning:
I have just discovered you! I just love your blog and your creativity. So inspiring. My home is on a house walk in about 12days. My arrangement for my table will be similar to yours. It is being done by one of our local florists. I will also include a few bright green succulents. Loved that moss purse.
I too have used a lot of pink in my home. . . . I will be blogging the entire event!
So happy to 'meet' you.
Love that hostess gift…how original and perfect for spring! Take care, Caroline
Everything looks gorgeous! I would love to have nice lunches like this but I find people in this town are thrown off if anything is nicer than eating out of a styrofoam container :O(
What did you server?
Elizabeth..you do have a beautiful eye for gorgeous things! I love your taste..right up my alley! Such an elegant table..right out of a magazine shoot! So pettty…nothing like a crisp white linen napkin and a double bonus if it has a monogram! The flowers are gorgeous and you are going to laugh but I have those very crystal hurricanes! I love the hostess gift..fabulous!! Looks like a beautiful luncheon!
Such beauty! This makes me want to entertain… definitely puts me in the mood! Love the moss covered container…
What a lovely luncheon. The flowers are so very pretty and I love the monogrammed napkins. Your friends must have felt so special. Makes me want to throw a ladies lunch! Thanks for the inspiration. XX Jeanne
It looks lovely, even with the powder room incident! I learned last December the hard way how to adjust to last minutes disasters.
We hold an annual Christmas party and 10 minutes before guests were to arrive our oven started smoking and fill up the whole house. (I also managed to burn my shirt on the iron so had to do a quick change) We had to run back and forth to use our neighbor's oven to heat up last minute items and open all the doors to clear out the smoke. Luckily our friends were late! Definitely learned to adjust to anything!
Gorgeous…and that floral "purse" is darling.
The best parties always seem to be the ones were a few things go unexpectedly! What did you serve?
I am totally smitten with your tablecloth! If that's picture taking on the go, I can only image the album you would have if you had time to primp for the show 🙂 XO, Kelly
Looks like a lovely day! And the pictures are great 🙂 Hope you're enjoying this gorgeous weather! xoxo
So thrilled to have found your gorgeous blog. The table is amazing! Happy to be your newest follower!
I love the idea of hosting a luncheon "just because." Note to self: I must do this asap. Such a gorgeous table, not that I would expect anything less from you! xo
Looks like a lovely lunch!! Love all your beautiful accoutrements – from flowers to tablecloth to napkins!!
Much as I may tease about "ladies who lunch" one of my very favorite things is to have lunch with good girlfriends. At home, out or at the home of a friend I enjoy catching up & sharing motherhood tales. Lovely table!
Best,
Colleen
So pretty and fun too! Locked bathroom door…been there, done that!

I want to come to lunch at your house– gorgeous! And too funny about the powder room– last summer, a little girl that was over for a playdate at the house I nanny for locked herself in the powder room. It's an older room and she couldn't figure out how to unlock it. Her babysitter and I were worried we might have to climb through the window, but eventually she got out!
Darling how gorgeous! I remember the table cloth very well and complimented my friend Eddie on it at the time. What a great purchase!
A luncheon with close girl friends is always a great idea – at home or as a pic nic. I love the idea of entertaining in an intimate and tailored way.
I am also very fond of afternoon tea parties and the odd canapes & drinks event. Such an easy way to entertain really!
Lovely pictures. Thanks for sharing.

ooh that locked door would have thrown me for a loop! But a lovely table and it sounds like everything worked out just right.
Oh my goodness that purse/planter is darling!
