Yesterday, I was working lunch duty at school and saw a little girl wearing a tiara. Leftover from the royal festivities I’m sure. So sweet and innocent. It was almost like a sparkly headband.
For little girls and big girls alike, the thought of being a princess for a day is something I’m not sure we ever outgrow.
So, to all the mothers, grandmothers and mothers-to-be….this tiara is for you!
My daughter wore a tiara for her first communion and I have a photo that I love….I shall post it one of these days. There is something about a tiara that makes any gal feel a little more like a princess. Just beautiful.
Love your lunch duty story.

I love it! My mum actually has a real tiara (diamonds and all) passed down from my great grandmother. It is usually worn on NYE and it is stunning! xx
I can see the image of that little girl with her tiara – very sweet! A part of me swooned over Kate's tiara last week.
Such a sweet post. The image of the little girl makes me smile, as I know quite well how she must have looked! My five year old went to the playground on Sunday wearing a tiara and a wedding dress! If anyone is a great example of a modern day princess, Miss Kate fits the bill well!
Would love for tiaras to come back into style for those black tie events that need a little sparkle! Perhaps a glittery headband for the day…
xxoo
I love it! Nothing like a bit of sparkle to brighten the day. Do you think that people would look at me funny if I wore a tiara to the office today? When I drove downtown on last Friday morning, I saw a little girl standing on the corner next to Nordstrom, holding her dad's hand, a little tiara perched crookedly on her head — she had to have just watched the wedding. It was darling! XX

Wouldn't a real tiara just be a fabulous heirloom to own!? But for now I'd be happy if even hats made a come back!!
Gorgeous tiaras and Kate's was perfection!!
I love that little girl's style! Maybe she'll be Harry's wife one day 🙂
Ahhhh tiaras … I always wear an invisible tiara … one simply must be open to each day's glamour, no? 😉 How charming, the story of the little girl with the unexpected tiara. Children are so delightful! xo
What a sweet post. I love tiaras (of course! I'm a total girlie girl!) and I wear an imaginary one every day. We all deserve one if we are doing our best to live life to the fullest. Don't you think? Have a great week.
awe, how sweet is that 🙂 I would love to do lunch duty one day, you must get a kick out of all the little ones!
My very sophisticated 30th birthday party had a princess theme– you never outgrow it! I didn't wear a tiara, but did festoon some feathers in my hair 😉
I think every woman at one time has dreamed of being a princess and wearing a tiara or crown I'll have to dig out the picture of me wearing mine when I was young. Haha
I'm a little distressed that I'm not wearing one right now. Lovely, sparkly post! 🙂
What a sweet post…what girl doesn't dream of being a princess? You are so right! Tiaras are so beautiful and I think at some point or antoher we have each secretly or not so secretly envisioned ourselves doing that royal wave or imagined donning a gorgeous diamond encrusted tiara (guilty as charged) they are just so incredibly beautiful and regal!
Love it. I've been running so all day that I feel like my tiara is falling off! Meeting my 3 best girl friends in just a little while for dinner. I'm sure that will ease the pain. Mona
I actually DID
wear the tiara
my daughter wears
{when she performs
on her harp} while
a friend and I had
a lovely breakfast
and watched the
wedding. I was
tempted to keep
it on when we then
went on to do errands
together, but I
chickened out : )
You found some lovely
ones here, Elizabeth!

playing dress-up was one of my FAVORITE things to do when i was a girl, and i even still do it sometimes playing around in my own closet!
I don't think I will ever tire of looking at the pictures from the Royal Wedding. Kate just looks so GORGEOUS.
So fun….Maddie has a little tiara and wand she love to use when she plays dress-up. I still haven't tired of seeing photos of Kate Middleton in that fabulous dress! Maddie's birthday is on Mother's Day. Somehow I think the tiara would be for her 🙂
I must have thought I was something special as I did wear one on my wedding day! Makes me want to dig out the box and don it 🙂 Gorgeous post! XO, Kelly
Kate's choice of tiara was perfection.
I so agree, I think that is why the wedding was so wonderful. I had fun watching it with a girlfriend and I could see in both our faces the wonderment of a little girl all grown up still wishing she was a princess!! How precious to have seen that little girl wearing her tiara at recess just like it was totally something she did everyday!! Love it,Kathysue
I was at the V&A Tiara exhibit years ago and it blew my mind! Absolutely stunning.
