I’ve spent most of my life living in or visiting the BBQ capitols of the US. Texas, North Carolina and Kansas. Funny enough, I could take it or leave it. But, the men in my life….well, that’s a different story.
So, for Father’s Day, I thought I would go with a BBQ theme. Starting with Peace, Love and Barbecue, by the legendary pit-master and James Beard nominee, Mike Mills. I’ll be pairing this with Trader Joe’s Bold & Smoky Kansas City BBQ sauce….as a nod to my husband’s Kansas roots.
If your guy really likes to man the grill, another idea is the Williams-Sonoma Regional BBQ pack, that covers many of the well known pits in the country.
Whatever you do, just be sure that Father’s Day is smokin’ hot for the men you love!

Funny, I just sent my Dad a bottle of some hot smoked bourbon mesquite sauce to spice up his Father's Day!

I'd be "skewered" if I didn't have some BBQ sauce on had for the weekend – funny enough, Father's Day is the only day in the year the hubby lets me man the grill!
xxoo
Sounds like you all will have a wonderful Father's day!! Take care, Caroline
Oh I wish we were able to bbq for Fathers day! We will be away for a lacrosse tournament traveling to a different state so bbq'ing this Fathers day is not happening but I am glad to know about this brand as my husband and sons all LOVE bbq and we are always looking for a great new sauce or line of products…and it seems the South has that nailed, last brand we found was from Louisiana and it was this super hot hot sauce and got rave reveiws from the "bbq experts" in my household! Enjoy yours!
I am all fired up by these ideas! xx
WOW! I think we've had the same taste testing over the years 🙂 I haven't tried the Kansas version, but I do love Trader Joes and it is GOOOOD!! Darling post 🙂 XO, Kelly
I'm adding that BBQ sauce to my Trader Joe's list immediately … looks divine!
Delicious! Funny thing, I'm the carnivore in the family… but I might have to ad some BBQ sauce to the Father's Day menu anyway.
Happy week!
We're fired up about grillin', chillin' and bbq around here!
xo Cathy
We'll be with my parents and boy my husband and Dad have requested ribs….so we'll be doing them as well! Sorry to miss you on my trip up to your neck of the woods this week. Great weather you are having!
I was struggling with what to get my dad- a bbq themed gift is a great idea!
I did a similar idea for my brother's birthday one year. Another year we picked up a ton of hot sauces from a Southern tour we took and made that a gift to him… He loved them!
Just love BBQ – we (or should I say the husband) grills all summer long! Not sure if he would use a book but I've been eyeing this one as well – what a great cover!!
yum. i miss a good barbecue! they have them here… but to my dismay, it only means grilling out burgers.
and don't worry… we always keep it hot here in oxford! 😉
So Southern! So Texan! So love it!
So cute… men do love barbeque, huh? The hotter the better! Thanks for your sweet comment today & yes, the sun finally came out! Atlantis is supposed to be a lot of fun. xo
I am a Texan and yes we love our BBQ's nothing like a nice rack of smoked ribs!
My hubs LOVES his bbq! Smokin hot indeed!;)
What is it with men & BBQs? I'm the same as you 🙂
Have fun in Kansas, sweetie! xoxo
What a good idea! My favorite is Carolina barbecue!
All I can say, is you are the BEST! Love this fun post! Yes, my husband acts like a caveman standing around his grill taking pride in his "cooked" meal! I'll have to buy this brand, as my husband is a big Stubbs fan…good to try other options though!
