What a week!
I don’t know where you were during the whole “Hurricane Irene” experience, but I had the misfortune to be in the Bahamas. After being there less than 36 hours, we scrambled and made our way home, only to see the Weather Channel predict her course was headed straight for us in New York.
After some quick assessments, my sweet husband suggested I take our young sons and head to Texas to wait it out. So, we caught a plane last Friday, the day before the airports closed, and watched t.v. anxiously as the Hurricane careened toward our home.
We were lucky. Power was out, but our house was undamaged.
As we head into another holiday weekend, I’m ready to celebrate. I’m home. We’re safe.
Today, the party is appropriately at Party Resources, the “go-to” blog, by my friend, Kate, for all things party related. So, hop on over and see what I dreamed up for my upcoming house guest.
Yes, tomorrow, company arrives.
How are you spending Labor Day Weekend?
Love the way you roll with life!
Off to see what you have in store over at Party Resources.
Happy Labor Day!

So happy to hear you were only inconvenienced by Irene, and had no major damage. I wasn't affected by the storm, but waited it out anxiously because my daughter lives in NYC and brother and family live on the MD coast. They came through fine too. This weekend I'm NOT watching the Weather Channel non-stop, just having a quiet "at home" weekend.
Best,
Susan
Glad all is fine Elizabeth! We too were without power, internet,cable,etc..but got it back last night. I put up a post late last night as so many had written out of concern. Blogland is a great place and its so nice to be back. So happy all is great with you too!
What an adventure you and your family has been on – so happy that everything turned out just fine – but I do bet you had a little clean-up when you returned home.
Happy September 1 as we count down to the end of hurricane season!

Welcome home and thanks for the great guest post! xx
So happy you and your family are well! We were so lucky it missed us here in Florida. However, it went straight for NYC where my kids are. A nerve wracking weekend for all….

So happy to hear you and your family are safe and sound!
The storm was wild. We lost power in Westchester too. Montauk was perfect, so I escaped there. Heading home now because oldest son Pat must pack for college. We still don't have power, so I will be off to the laundry mat!

Happy to see you back! Altho after looking at those vacation photos, may have been hard to return. Very smart to sidetrack to Texas too!

Wow! A Texan in New York! That must have been an adjustment! I've got the country music on…Pandora…and wow, what deliciousness your father in law in in for! The brisket tacos look great although I could make dinner out of just the pudding!
Enjoy!
