Caution: Construction Zone – this isn’t the “pretty” post you may be used to seeing! Yet, I know many of you have either undergone a renovation, are thinking about a renovation or dreading having to do a renovation.
Above is the architect’s rendering of what this space will look like when we finish. Here’s what’s happened in the past few weeks!
Now, I understand what having a clean slate is like!
To be continued…..
Good morning and welcome to my world! Just now crossing over from the "dark side" there is light at the end of the tunnel and I am sure we will both say its well worth any stress, sleepless nights and headaches, when all is said and done. Try to enjoy it (if possible) and crossing my fingers you that it all goes as planned and without any unexpected twists and turns!
It's going to be so much fun to watch the process. How exciting! xo
Yikes! Been there, done that! It's a bit scary, but when it's all done, it's so nice to have what you want! Looking foward to seeing the finished product!
Best,
Susan
PS I'll bet it's been a bit noisy at your house! I can almost "hear" it from your pictures! S
Since losing your beautiful home in a bidding war with YOU, I always love hearing about the projects you are doing to make the home 1000% yours. Can't wait to see how this one finishes.
Somehow renovation and construction are not as scary as they once seemed. I do think laughter and plenty of manicures are in your future!

Yes you are starting over with a clean slate. Looks like it is going really well. Good luck.
Oddly enough in our current reno I loved seeing the demo phase…..it is the hours and hours of meetings to discuss minute details that are getting to me (like where we'll charge cell phones, where shoes will go, what goes in the cabinets, etc.)…..and the worry that each decision I make I have to live with for years to come! Cannot wait to see more of your process….looks like it will be fab!
Out with the old, and in with the new! Can't wait to see what you create here!
xo Cathy
We're going through the exercise of build vs. buy ourselves and while I'd prefer to not live in a construction zone for months on end, there's something to be said about adding your special touch to a home… I hope to learn lots from your process!
xxoo
I love a good renovation – thanks for sharing the beginning of the project. Can't wait to see more!
OMG! I love that you shared this! I love the plans! SO charming! It WILL all be worth it when it's finished… So exciting for you…

You know I am so excited for you!!!Demo Day are among 2 of the most thrilling words. Demo day started on a project of mine yesterday and it's a miracle I didn't get a speeding ticket trying to get there this morning to see the place ripped apart lol!
