Life imitating blogs? Why, yes, it sometimes does!
Having been inspired by Rue magazine’s Tartan & Toddies party by Scot Meacham Wood, a friend and I created our own version for a ladies luncheon this year.
We started with ribbon and decided to do a layered Ralph Lauren look. We backed into the tablecloth, napkins, chairs, etc…by playing around with the colors. Alternating the red and green cushions and napkins seemed like a fun way to keep things from being too perfect and keep them theme going.
Many of our guests wore plaid….and so did our gingerbread girl, which was part of our dessert.
Why Ms. Pretty Pink Tulips you and your friend outdid yourselves! This luncheon looks fabulous, festive and certain to get anyone into the holiday spirit. How lovely that you and a group of gals take time out of your busy schedules to enjoy one of the blessings of life, friendship. Well done! I too, am mad for plaid.
Guilty. Yes, I use blogs for inspiration when entertaining, decorating, creating and designing a life of grace! Quite the perfect plaid party….I hope you had a plaid kilted visitor to entertain you fine ladies.
I think today I will wear my plaid skirt!

Fun!! Love it all – especially your plaid clad charming gingerbread girl. I've been obsessing over tartan all fall and will be doing a tartan table for Christmas! Hopefully I can get it organized in time to show you!!

What fun! I'm sure your guests were absolutely mad for such a charming setting for what must have been a lovely luncheon. Well done!
I have the influence of Eddie Ross all over our house — from the garland on the staircase, to the way our wreaths are tied to our window frames. One of the best things about the blog world is all the creativity and ideas to be shared!
I'm glad your event was such a success! XO

I'm loving this tablescape!! It looks very elegant! I especially love the reindeer centerpiece. I used Pinterest to help with my book club dinner earlier this month…I love finding inspiration wherever I can!
Thank you for teaching us that tartan can be terrific! When I think of plaid, I think of the Preppy Handbook and the kilts my father bought us in Scotland – still have both!
xxoo
