I never thought I’d go gray this early. In my house, that is.
The paint colors we’re testing this week include an array of grays. Soft. Soothing. Easy on the eyes. We have a lot of natural light in the new areas and gray seems to be a nice segue between the original part of the house and this newer, more casual area.
Last night, everything seemed to be about gold. (Oscar!) But, this Monday morning, I’m all about gray. And, happy about it.
What’s on tap for you this week?

No twisting my arm…..I love gray in all its many shades though I favor the lighter softer dustier grays. When paired with a little white or cream to give it a pop the effect is quite beautiful. Look forward to seeing what you decided, happy Monday!
Elizabeth-
Nothing like a little color and I adore shades of gray.
I know your new space will be golden!
Enjoy!

ha! another great minds…blah, blah moment today! xx
yay! you are gonna be so happy. let us know how the process goes – you know grays can be tricky in different lights. can't wait to see…donna
You have commented that we have a lot of similarities in our renovation and build experience – and here is another one! My library (which is really my room – it's my 'woman cave') and the office off the library (also mine!) is painted in a beautiful soft gray – everyone comments on it when they come in the house. I can't remember the name of it right now – I know it is Benjamin Moore – Suzanne picked it out. Let me know if you are interested in me digging up some info!
Too funny since I was just visiting Sue… Both of you are in a gray mood on a sunny Monday!
xxoo
I too am loving gray and thinking of an overhaul – what color gray is in your first shot (the pic with the dog)? Also not sure do I do gray with creamy white or clean white trim?

Even though we get plenty of gray outdoors here in Seattle, I love gray on the inside, too. We painted our powder room a deep gray – it looks great with the marble floor and also contrasts perfectly with the vintage gold of the mirrors and chandeliers. So graying and golden together!
Happy Monday! XO
We painted our bedroom grey & I love it! Very soothing, can be accessorized with any color, but less harsh than white. Of course I'm biased b/c I stare at it daily but I love it!
Can't wait to see how the new addition ends up- how exciting!
We're testing grays in our living room too. I'm trying to find one that doesn't go blue or pink tough finding a true gray. And light fixtures for the bathroom…it's always something!

Love grays! And the good thing is you can always change it and only your(hairdresser)painter will know!

we love our BM stonington gray (blue undertones) we used in our kitchen & family room (very open). very warm and soothing, yet bright and happy when the sun hits it! Good luck!
Love grey in design … I was recently visiting family and they had their house painted in a variety of taupy-greys and they looked so pretty that I kept the Benjamin Moore color numbers. These colors are more in the taupy family than the true grey, but if you'd like to take a look at them: The dining room had a Restoration Hardware dining room table and "Louis" chairs … the walls were Mesa Verda tan AC-33, the living room was Pismo Dunes AC-32, the master bedroom was more grey, Kingsport Gray HC-86. Good luck with your paint choosing! ~xoSM

I love gray, Elizabeth. You just can't go wrong using it. These images are beautiful.
Happy Monday.

There really are some lovely grays out there. I think we're light years away from when it was the least favorite color in the crayon box! I'm thinking of a light blue gray to re-vamp the downstairs bath.
Love this! I have had a light grey with a slight pink undertone picked out for my living room for ages now! Just waiting for husband to do the structural work he keeps talking about!
I have Benjamin Moore Winter Gates in my living room– it has a good lavender tint to it. I never thought I'd go grey either but now it is my fave!
I bet grey will look lovely! It's such a soft and soothing color. And it can be extremely elegant. Can't wait to see how it comes together. 🙂 xoxo
A post after my own heart…I LOVE gray, and these images are beautiful!
Stacy
I'm such a fan…gorgeous examples to start my week…can't wait to see your choices!!
I so agree! I was just thinking I want to paint a wall in my bedroom charcoal grey and get myself mirrored furniture. I need a glamorous update!! I'm just worried the gray will go out and I'll be left with a dreary color 🙁 What do you think I should do??
