Ahhh….it’s Friday! And, what a week it’s been.
I love the sketches, above, from Oscar de la Renta…..showing that you have to start with a rough idea and tweak it and move things around before you end up with a moment like the one below.
Oscar de la Renta finale
Just a reminder that some of the best moments in life are worth waiting for! What’s waiting for you this weekend?
Elizabeth,
I will be waiting for my dear husband to join me as he will be waiting for our lawn team to sow some seed and try to get a head start on grass growing where there has been mud and dirt. I guess all we can do is plant the seed and imagine a lush bed of verdant green!
I adore fashion sketches and creating things that are worth waiting for. I am just not so skilled in the patience department. I am more of an "instant gratification" type of gal:)

Very cool post. Love the message behind it too. Hmmm… no plans yet for the weekend but sometimes those make for the very best weekends. I hope yours is wonderful, Elizabeth, and that you make some time to relax!! xo
Hopefully a relaxing weekend! I am craving a weekend with very little I HAVE to do and think I am getting it…yay!! Oscar De La Renta makes the most beautiful clothes, how exciting it must be to start with a single sketch and see his magnficient vision come to life.
Catching up!, I have had more travel recently than I have ad in years….
Such a fun last picture, Elizabeth!

I agree! For us, it's some family time with my oldest child's birthday. Have a great weekend!
Elizabeth, I LOVE the collection of sketches… it makes one feel like we are taking a secret peak into the world of glamour! Thank you for sharing – hope you have a marvelous weekend! – Jalon
Crazy week over here too. But in 30minutes I will be packing my weekend bag for a little "secret" getaway (all arranged by Hubby!).
Quite excited over here!
Wishing you a wonderful and relaxed weekend dear Elizabeth.

I love Oscar's designs just shame I have no where to wear one of his stunning gowns. As for my weekend I would be happy to finish painting an inside door but it's raining on top of our snow and Dylan dog is inside. He's hairy and I don't want my door hairy too!!
Enjoy your weekend Elizabeth!

Oscar de la Renta designs are always beautiful. He seems to really "get" women. I have some Bob Mackie sketches that he did in my phone book many years ago when we were with Cher, Dolly and Carol. I love them.
As for the weekend, I'm tending my roses a bit and then doing housekeeping chores and hopefully getting in some time for reading. I am missing Downton Abbey and looking forward to it's return.
Have a lovely weekend, Elizabeth!
what a lovely post elizabeth! simple and powerful all at once.
i will be doing endless business paperwork…sigh…
wishing you a wonderful weekend

I so LOVED this post.
Oscar de la Renta is one of my favorite designers. I have a degree in Fashion Merchandising and I did as many papers on him as I could.
I also have some goals that i want to complete and this is a great reminder to "start somewhere".
Thanks for a great post!
I love his work. His sketches would make great wallpaper! Love your blog!
Getting home. I'm in the Atlanta airport and have 3 more hours to wait. Have been to a wedding in Florida. Hope all is great with you. Mona
Gorgeous post as always, Elizabeth! The best moments in life are truly worth waiting for. Nothing this glamorous was waiting for us this weekend, but soon enough. Hope you had a great weekend.
