I was living in Charlotte, NC, when I fist got a glimpse of Juliska dishes. The “berry and thread” pattern was an instant favorite of mine and to this day remains what I use for my every day dishes.
I knew the Juliska flagship was located just down the road in Stamford, CT, but figured it was just full of dishes, seconds and damaged goods. Boy, I could not have been more wrong!
Yes, there are the classic Juliska patterns, but SO MUCH MORE!
A cafe for one. So cute!
Table linens, placemats, art work, serving ware and gifts galore!
Here is the classic “berry and thread” pattern that I have.
Now, here’s a glimpse of what I wasn’t expecting.
I forgot to take a photo of my absolute favorite find there…packages of 8 sparklers. I’m tying them on birthday presents…perfect to light up a cake!
Surprise balls….more on that later this week!
Love the paper place mats by Cake….this set and the fairy wand are on their way to my god daughter for her birthday!
Yes, you can go to their website, but I promise you that there is so much in store that you won’t find there. It’s just worth the trip. And, if you’re in the neighborhood, Fairway and Design Within Reach are just down the street.
One last note…Barry & Fred (a take off on Berry & Thread) is the Juliska outlet next door, filled with slightly damaged pottery and overstocked items. Great bargains to be had.
If you live too far for an in person visit and like something I’ve highlighted, just call 203.316.9118 and ask for Liz or Ann!
Hi Elizabeth….love Juliska and their wonderful shop and cafe…how cute it it? And you are so right, quite unexpected. Their things are just gorgeous and I am lucky enough to own several of their serving pieces. I love your idea of adding those beautiful sparklers on top of a gift, elegant and whimsical! Have a great day.
Love your Juliska dinnerware it reminds me of classic French ware. I've been to the store twice so much to see but I didn't know they had a website so I'll have to check it out for party ideas.
Enjoy your week Elizabeth!

I live so close and have never been!! Will have to check out the cafe. A friend was the lead designer and head of marketing for years!! So talented!
Elizabeth-
They would have had to run me out! I am going to make a point to vista here if I am going through. There are just places that are perfect for some, and this is the kind of jewel I love.
As for the china and stemware, favorites of mine and always have been. What a surprise to see more.
Happy Monday.

Oooh looks like it's worth a trip! And I think I'll take J with me because I want those sparklers for my 40th bday in a few weeks. Hint hint J 🙂 xoxo
Hi, Elizabeth ~
Thanks so much for your visit today. I am delighted to find you 🙂 Now, I've been antiquing at the centers in Stamford for over 10 years, and have always passed the Juliska store. I always thought it was just an outlet with seconds. Shame on me for being so silly, and lazy, for not checking. I'm extra happy I visited Pretty Pink Tulips 😉
Looking forward to reading your other posts.
Cheers from DC,
Loi

This post just made my day! And night! I didn't know about this store but love, love, love Juliska! My daughter started it when she got married and I'm wishing I could add it to my already overflowing collection of dishes! What a fun shop and cafe as well! So glad I got to see this! I have a feeling I will be researching it tonight to have things shipped! Hmmm…
Hi Elizabeth,

Love this Elizabeth! I will be in Stamford tomorrow and I am so stopping here! Thanks so much for sharing this fabulous find!
I'm curious about how your dishes dvr held up. I love the look of the Berry and Thread but have read some reviews that they scratch very easily from use
