Sometimes I get caught up in the “things” that I “need” to do each day. Yesterday, I made time for the very thing that really matters. My kids. They had been begging me to go to a local amusement park for many years….and I had never made time. Until now.
Ferris wheels, carousels and even some pink cotton candy!
Sometimes the best things in life are really simple. You just have to make time for them.
What are you making time for before summer ends?

Love it! I know that spot and hope it stays open-
It sure brings out the little kid in me!

So sweet Elizabeth, looks like your son had a ball! Havent' done much that would qualify as old fashioned fun lately except visiting a farmstand and buying bags and bags of fresh produce, which was a lot of fun! Hoping to squeeze in a little getaway or at least a few beach days before the summer wraps up….scary that its happening so fast!!
Enjoy these last few weeks!
terrific way to end the summer, e. I know you all enjoyed it. donna
Such a nostalgic post, Elizabeth. My children and I rode the carousel frequently, and the week my daughter was going off to college for the first time, we got on the carousel and immediately broke into tears.
It is the little things that mean so much, so I am happy to see that you are grasping every moment! They grow up so fast.
Have a great day!

Elizabeth, I'm so glad you and your boys took a time out for a day of pure fun. (And I can almost smell the cotton candy from here!) Such a wonderful reminder of what's truly important in life. I'm on a campaign to get Mr. H. to walk away from work on the weekends so we can get a few bike rides and kayak paddles in before summer fades.
Happy Wednesday! XO
I love it! These are the things they will remember someday. Enjoy the rest of the summer with the kiddos.
NICE, Elizabeth!! That last photo is priceless. I want to reach in and grab some of that cotton candy. I love that shot.
Enjoy, xoxo Loi
Love it!
What a fun day….that quote hit home with me!
LOVE that quote! Need to pin this, and OMG, did you go to Playland? Brave lady!:)
That looks so much fun!!! I am so happy you did that with your kids Elizabeth! You are a good Mama! I always dread the idea of doing stuff like that but when I do we all have fun!
Elizabeth,
Did you know that Playland is the first amusement park in America? When I moved to Westchester I heard horror stories of how crowed Playland could be. Wanting to take my little kiddies I ventured there in June before the big kids got of school and had the park to ourselves. I've gone for the past four years every June before school lets out. This year when my daughter had her last day of school, it was a half day, so we went there directly after school to celebrate the of kindergarten. It was like our own play ground! We have always had fun at Playland. I love your post, it's beautiful. Truly, I believe we see life in the way we want to view it. Speaking of what needs to be done, our lunch to celebrate your birthday…can we get a September date on the calendar? xoxo,Lisa
Aww this is such a sweet post! I want to thank you so much for the HUGE compliment on my blog!! You made my day 🙂
