Welcome to the weekend! Anyone going to a wedding? I haven’t been to one in ages and from the looks of things on Pinterest and Style Me Pretty….things have changed a lot since I got married, nearly 14 years ago.
I had a fairly typical Texas wedding. Evening. Large. Formal, but not black tie (I really wish I had done black tie) with a cocktail style reception and a live band. No sit down dinner. And, it was lovely. But, it’s fun to fantasize what I would change if I could do it all over again.
So, that’s what I’ve done in a guest post for my friend Kate of Party Resources. Kate’s mom, Dixie, is a much sought after event planner on the East Coast and in a fun twist, coordinated the weddings of 2 of my friends in Rye.
So, pop on over to see what I would change in my I Do, Do-over!
And, do tell….if you had the chance to do it all over again, what would you change, if anything?
Oh I'll have to make the jump. I had a very low key wedding – at the insistence of my husband. I wanted to get married privately, go on our honeymoon to Italy and then just have a big party when we got back! But it is now a lovely memory so perhaps he was right.
We had a wedding with a lot of "pomp and circumstance" with a dress to prove it…lol. Today I would go for a much more low key, slightly more causal affair in Napa, an affair that I would feel comfortable enough to kick my heels off later as we begin to dance into the night to a reggae band…….fun to dream! Same great guy though…that wouldn't change:)
Enjoyed your post..have a great weekend!
I got married right before the explosion of Style Me Pretty & Pinterest. I think I would have added a few more personal touches through DIY inspired Pinterest projects, but otherwise everything would be the same.
I actually would've hired a new dj who would play the songs we had asked her to in our 2 hr meeting. No one else seemed to mind but my husband & I, so worst things happen but it was annoying!
Headed over, Elizabeth!
Happy Friday.

It's always fun to imagine the do-over – as long as we keep the groom the same!
We had a great time creating our post for Kate and trying to reinvent a beautiful day. Can't wait to see what you came up with!

I would definitely change how we did our wedding…I would want the exact same wedding that my daughter had! It was perfect in every way! Have a great weekend!
Thanks so much for joining the series! xx
I loved my wedding about the only thing I would change was my dress. The place where I ordered my dress thought it a good idea to order it two sizes smaller for some reason so I got married in an overly tight dress!
Enjoy your weekend!

Elizabeth,
I am certain that your wedding must have been gorgeous.
Last week, we celebrated our 25th and we feel so blessed to have our parents alive and kicking. We thanked them both for being great role models and for the memories we shared that day.
I think more couples need to focus on the ceremony and less on all the "stuff." As we grow – we feel that just sharing with family and friends is top priority.
A wedding should be about that, sharing our love.
