Hello, September!!! I know you’re right on time, but you seem a little early.
I’ve barely finished my beach reads and I never did get to wear that new cover up. My kids start school this week (finally!), so I guess I can’t complain. We are back. to. a. routine!
And, while I’m packing away my summer sunscreen and beach towels, I guess I’ll pack away my whites, too. White shoes. White dresses. And, my favorite white bag.
But, fashion rules do seem to be changing…so those of you who love white jeans might keep them nearby, so they can go with a camel hued sweater or with a black turtleneck.
I’m from the South, so it’s been ingrained in me…no white after Labor Day. But, how about you? Do you love your whites year round?
Whether you’re already back at work or scrambling to get those last few school supplies….have a wonderful week. We have a lot to look forward to this Fall!

Definitely bittersweet to say goodbye to summer. On one hand its been a hectic far from relaxing summer, so how much crazier can fall get? And on the other, fall is my favorite season by far, love the cooler weather, the clothes and changing of the leaves. I generally don't wear white after Labor day however if its 90 degrees and I am invited somewhere where white pants would be appropriate, you bet I will!
Good luck getting the kiddos back to school…..love that last picture, breathtaking!!
Elizabeth,
You are such a wonderful representative of the South and of old guard fashion rules. I do love white in the Summer and then as the seasons change it does seem to be a time to stow away the whites. I have been known to break a few fashion rules.
I think I need to start gathering whites for next summer. Your whites are so chic! Love your Goyard tote.

I definitely stretch wearing those white jeans into September – love them with a dark top to temper the season!! And your fab white Goyard is seasonless!! Look forward to seeing you soon!!
Elizabeth-
No white to be seen here now, but the white slipcovers stay, all else is put away. I am happy to see the cool weather heading in, and I look forward to the fall colors.
So nice to be back to a routine.
Happy Monday.

My favorite season is right around the corner. Love the Fall with all the crisp air and cool temperatures. I'll wear white but it's called "winter white".
I didn't get to wear my white jeans nearly enough so Im going to push them into fall a bit with a chestnut colored tunic, leather bag and saddle brown shoes…hmm. I use bone all year long, and usually put the whites away. I hate it1

Summer may be over for the kids, but this is the perfect week to pack them off to school, pack a sandwich and a beach chair and head off with a great book. The beach is pretty much deserted, but just as lovely.
I love whites, but I'm with you..fall is no place for them! Although, I do sometimes wear them a LITTLE past labor day! I'm excited to try and transfer my coral colored jeans into fall looks!
As much as I say anything goes I too feel funny wearing white after Labor Day! That Chanel bag is heaven!

The times they are a changing and even here in the Old South the rules have relaxed on White after Labor Day. I agree with Tina, even though she is in NY and I am in Ga, if it is 90 degrees outside, I see no problem wearing white and accessorizing it for Fall. Just like in Interior Design the accessories can change the look entirely!
So funny I was thinking about this very topic just today with it being Labor Day and all!Gorgeous white selections in this post.XX
LOVE your white bag! Don't put it away!
Living in Seattle.. from a practical sense, it's tough to wear white in the Fall. Great bag and I love the little bit of leopard! I'll be wearing a crisp white blouse to the office or maybe a cable knit sweater.. other than that it will be darker colors 🙂
Sounds like you are looking forward to getting back into a routine with the kids. We all need that!

I don't even know who started the idea of not wearing white after Labor or before Easter! My wardrobe is so limited that I've always worn whatever I wanted. To me, you can't beat a beautiful white blouse or a white soft cashmere sweater!
Oooh I'd have a pang putting away that great Goyard bag!
I hope your transition is a smooth one Elizabeth!
Amy 🙂
Winter whites are still staples in our closets even though Mother always said no whites after Labor Day. We think creamy white cords in the fall paired with jewel tones are just fine… Happy September, Elizabeth!

Loving your white Goyard and that bike…
Elizabeth, I am smiling as I read this because I'm so not willing to give up my whites yet – we've got a gorgeous stretch of weather coming up and I'm in complete denial that summer is winding down! So those sun dresses and white jeans will be staying in rotation for awhile.
Happy September! XOXO
Elizabethh, even though it's now after Labor Day I'm still going to wear my whites. At least until it cools down and then maybe off-white. Love your hand bag you lucky girl. I'm ready for summer to wind down I need the winter to rest.

Like you, I was brought
up to put away the whites
after Labor Day….and I
feel funny not adhering
to the rules : )
Hope your new routine
is off to a great start,
sweet friend!!
