Keeping the Home Fires Burning

My husband has been traveling all week for business, so I’m looking forward to catching up with him tonight, in front of a roaring fire tonight. Thank goodness we just got a fresh delivery of wood…love the way it looks all stacked up.

I’d been looking for a good firewood container and stumbled upon this one from MacBeth Collection. I love the look of baskets to hold firewood, but our dog, Molly, seems to be a chewer, so metal is a much more practical solution.

    Just had my Chimney Sweeper here. Mr.Jack Egan.
    My hearth is cleaned and ready for fires to burn safely.
    My dear husband has many stacks of wood that he has chopped. There is a zen when I hear him splitting wood and he comes inside (picture Kramer) all crazy and tells us how much he accomplished. I think it is so invigorating for him and then we all enjoy roaring fires.

  2. Enjoy the cozy fire tonight….supposed to get very cold, a perfect night! I love the smell of fresh wood…..nothing at all like a cold night and a roaring fire (throwing in a glass of a nice red helps too)! Enjoy….

  5. Oh, I wish it was cool enough here for a fire. Temperatures here are in the 80s today!
    There is nothing more cozy and lovely than a great fire. Love the basket too!

    Yes, I've ordered from Vermont Good Wood the past 3 years and been more than satisfied. They restocked me this week…I came home and it was done. Easy, breezy. Great wood. In fact, it's burning in the fireplace behind me right now.

  14. This makes me miss our real wood burning fireplace! We changed it over to gas like our other ones last year as it is a lot easier to use…but there is nothing like a real fire with real wood! Hope you enjoyed your time together!

  18. Our house does not have a fireplace and it was the biggest negative about it! I'm so jealous! Its not our forever home, so I can deal but its a deal breaker for the next one!
