When I lived in Charlotte, I became enamored with the Spode Woodland china pattern. Perfect for fall dinner parties and Thanksgiving, I use it exclusively from September through November.
For this dinner, I layered the earthy pattern (each plate has a different bird represented) with rattan chargers, hemstitch napkins and placemats, my Reed & Barton Francis I silver and Vagabond steak knives. I love the horn handles, especially for men.
I’ll probably repeat this tablescape with some variations for Thanksgiving.
Have you been entertaining this Fall? Will you be hosting Thanksgiving? Setting the table is my favorite part!
Elizabeth,
Please tell me this was something you hosted when the lights came back on! Wow, what a stunning table. I love how thoughtful you are….the china, the crystal, the flowers and then those charming gifts!

Stunning, Elizabeth! I love every single detail, all perfectly combined! (Especially the thistles, what a lovely personal touch). We are entertaining friends tomorrow night and I've been thinking about the table, what colors the flowers should be, what dishes I will use. So much to be inspired by here!
Have a lovely day. XO
Gorgeous! The white linen with the earthy tones of the Spode is perfect. Love all the details Elizabeth. I was just on line last night trying to pick up some last minute pieces of the china ~ it's so pretty.
