In less than an hour, the ALT NYC conference, hosted by Martha Steward Living Omnimedia, sold out. I’m grateful to be going. I need to go. Having penned this blog for nearly 3 years (how is that possible?!), I find I’m craving creative energy. Inspiration. Motivation. Ideas.
Have you found that whatever you do (or want to do) for a living …writing, painting, parenting, owning a business, styling, banking, interior design, real estate….that sometimes you’re on fire? And, other times you don’t feel so much in the flow? I think we all do.
That’s why I feel it is so important to connect with like-minded people. In person. Feel their energy. Learn from them. Recharge.
For those of us in the blogging community, ALT is an incredible gathering that is held annually in Salt Lake City. This past year, they also came to New York. But, I missed it. Too slow to respond. So, this time, I set 2 alarms on my phone. Logged on from my car and entered my information, only for the system to crash. Thinking that I’d have better luck on my desktop, I drove like a mad woman down I-95 and after several misfires, I finally got through. 20-something minutes later, it was sold out. Whew!
For those of you on the West Coast, ALT SF is also coming your way. The signup is on March 15th…and take it from experience, you better be online the minute registration opens.
If travel just isn’t in the cards, ALT has created a channel where you can take online classes, just like the ones at the conferences. There is a host of great ones on tap right now.
If you’re a blogger, have you been to an ALT conference? What did you think? How would you advise I make the most of the opportunity? And, if you’re attending, I’d love to know so we can connect before June.
Whatever you do in life, we all need to learn, grown and recharge, so look around at the opportunities that are out there for you. It may be just what you need to springboard to your highest potential!

Hi Elizabeth, sounds like fun! I so agree we need to continue to be open about learning, growing and evolving. Yes things can get stale and everyone hits those speed bumps, but then you get over them and its full speed again. Good for you for moving forward and doing something you have been wanting to do. Cannot wait to hear your report!
So true, Tina! Life, blogging, most things have ups, downs and those blissful easy days in between. I'll definitely report back!

Elizabeth,
I am so thrilled that you are going. It just did not work out for me this time since my daughter is graduating 8th grade but I would love to go. I think as a Mom and an artist, it is important to keep feeding our creative self. I know you will enjoy and embrace everything you learn and are exposed to at ALT. I also know everyone who meets you will be enamored by your flair for connecting and creating elegance with everything you do.

Patricia,
You know I would have lived to share this experience with you. But 8th grade graduation is so important…that's definitely where you should be!

We have a saying that "if you don't go, you won't know!" so we try to get out of the office and network at least twice a month. Having been to ALT New York with Sue last year, we know you'll find tons of inspiration from the panels and attendees. And best of all, the cocktails on the roof are a blast! Hope we can get together soon…

Yes, we all have those peaks and valleys and change things up a bit to stay current and energized. I think the blogging community is very supportive and I like the way everyone connects regardless of geographical location, age, or anything else. Good for you Elizabeth for trying this out. We will be anxious to hear how it goes!

I haven't been to one but I just know not only would it be informative, it would be a great time. Hope to see you at one someday! xo
It's on my wish list to go… I am looking forward to your report. So happy for you! Enjoy! XX
I'm going to live vicariously through you, Elizabeth. The conference sounds wonderful, and I love NYC so it would have been great to combine the two. Can't wait to hear all about it!!
Elizabeth I am going to look into their on-line classes; as I cannot attend. I hope you will visit me. I have a message for my blog friends.
Love and Hugs
