Do you have a summer reading list? I have for as long as I can remember. It seems to be the time of year where I can carve out several hours, connected together, for the sheer pleasure of getting lost in a story. As a child, if it was a really hot Texas day, you could find me curled up in our living room reading one of my Nancy Drew mysteries!
As I’ve been on a reading tear lately, I thought I would share my summer reading recommendations with you over the coming months.
Just released on May 31st, A Hundred Summers, is the 2nd book by Beatriz Williams. Educated at Stanford and Columbia, Beatriz spent years on Wall Street before she settled down to raise her 4 children in nearby Greenwich, CT and stake out a spot at her local Starbucks, where she churns out her page turning novels!
Beatriz set her story in an idyllic ocean front community in Rhode Island, very similar to Watch Hill. It’s 1938 and the story of New York socialite, Lily Dane, her former best friend, Budgie and her former fiancé, Nick Greenwald, are in for a summer of cataclysmic emotions…just as a 100 year hurricane bears down upon them.
The characters are from Beatriz’s imagination, but the hurricane was real.
If you order it today, you’ll have it in time for the weekend! Please let me know if you read it and what you thought!
