Counting down the days until Thanksgiving? Are you one of those people who loves turkey and all the trimmings? I have to confess, I’m not. The traditional foods just aren’t my favorites, but I love, love, love the concept of gathering with family or friends and setting aside one day to reflect on all that we are grateful for.
I’ll be taking next week off to celebrate a special anniversary and the holiday with family, so I thought I’d leave you with a few things.

Next, this is a really pretty pie, right? Well, here’s the great part for you non-bakers. The pie is store-bought and the leaves were cooked separately and laid at the edges to hide any imperfect crust. Finally, the raspberries were rolled in a little sugar for a glam touch and give some color to an otherwise dull looking pie. I know there’s something about home made….but if one of you gets in a pinch, just remember to “embellish”!
Finally, even if you’re bringing food to a gathering, it is so nice to bring just a little something for the hostess. No matter how much you’re cooking/baking….he/she is doing it all. This year, that someone is my sister-in-law….and I think she deserves something special for all her efforts.
