Sometimes we think that the holidays have to be about the grand gestures. Not so.
The small, thoughtful gestures can be just as meaningful. And, the same goes with gift wrap. Sometimes just a touch of fresh greens on the simplest of wrapping can shine bright.
Grab that kraft paper, string and add a touch of green. After all, “brown paper packages tied up with string” made into a very well known song.
Did you happen to see the Sound of Music last night?!
Wishing you simple pleasures, during a month that can sometimes feel magical and other times manic! Here’s to all that’s magical!
Lovely! I also like it when there is a sprig of something green in a napkin on a freshly set table.
Love fresh greenery on my gifts, its so inexpensive and always adds that special little touch. Love the examples you have shown….hope your holidays are off to a wonderful start! Hard to believe the first week of December is nearly over!!
As always, love your positivity! A simple sprig of green, brown paper packages and some greenery are just the sort of magic and music to my ears!

I love this Elizabeth – you just tied all that's magic about the holidays up with string and a little bit of green. I'm a believer that best stuff of life is made up by the small things. You've inspired me to add a touch of greens – and to not worry so much about making a big splash with my gits- this holiday season. Hope yours is way more magical than manic! XOXO
Nothing more beautiful than greenery on a package. I adore the little wreath!!

The greenery is a beautiful detail. I think I'll go prune my cedar and keep a vase of it indoors to trim off for packages as they rush out the door. Very pretty. Yes, I watched part of The Sound of Music, Julie Andrews is a hard act to follow. Have a great weekend.
So lovely! We have two giant Holly trees in our front yard and I think I will use some greenery from those trees….thanks for sharing!
I love this post. I LOVE the Sound of Music and forgot to DVR the darn thing last night. didn't remember until I was already at a holiday bash in NYC 🙁 Although I'm not sure anyone could be better than Julie Andrews and Christopher Plumber, sigh… BTW did I notice you at #79 on The Enchanted Home? Maybe 90 as well 🙂
I love the brown paper and colorful string. Those small wreaths are so cute. I can't find them in the craft stores.
Merry Christmas!
This post is very important for me because i need this information for my brother. Thanks for the important post. Interior design ideas
Yes, well said Elizabeth! It's a season with lots of emotion .. a magic/manic season:)
I've always wanted to wrap all the gifts in brown paper with a simple ribbon and have yet to do it. The idea of adding the sprig of green is just lovely. I like the red and white twine against the greens.
Hope you are enjoying the seasonal festivities and staying warm! It's been in the teens and twenties here.. very cold for us!
