After a weekend of skiing, we came home to a snow day for my kids! 7 inches and still falling!!
Winter has never been my favorite season, but I’ve learned to embrace it and basically chill.
The proper attire really helps. I’ve finally resigned myself to a “uniform” of leggings, Aquatalia (waterproof) boots, a long sleeve t-shirt and a sweater. I’m warm but most important, I don’t look like the Michelin man. Which is so easy to do when the temperatures are frigid.
I also use this oil religiously after I shower, but before I towel off. Heavenly smell. Skin so soft!
And I relax indoors with the latest books and magazines. Peachy just unveiled it’s winter issue which is full of cool features, such as this architecturally stunning home in Park City, Utah, known as “the Mining House”.
Over the years of living as a Texan in Northeast, I’ve learned that the more I accept that winter is just part of the deal and prepare accordingly, the more I’ll enjoy each and every day… until I see the first glimpse of Spring.
How was Vermont? I am not a fan of the snow myself, so your suggestions are very helpful. I am trying to head to Florida today, if my flight isn't cancelled – I hope my flight takes off!!
Stay warm, Elizabeth!!
Hope you had fun skiing! My son was up at Stratton and had a ball despite the cold. I am not the trooper I used to be and regret to say that with every year I dislike winter more but do love a beautiful good snowfall. Yes its gorgeous but way way too cold….frigid! Stay warm and I have to check out Peachy, not familiar with it. Enjoy the snow day:)
I know all about the leggings uniform.
Stay warm.

I work from home when it is bad out, so that helps. My biggest winter complaint is that "Cabin fever" feeling. Other than that, my plush throw from Restoration Hardware gets me through the worst of it.
I haven't tried the Dyptique oils! I'm sure they smell incredible. Looks like you've been enjoying the winter season Elizabeth:) We've had an unseasonably warm winter on the west coast and I'm worried about an overly dry summer. Just a little snow would be nice;) I looked at the magazine and it's filled with lots of great material! Enjoy your week and say warm. xxL
So funny to return home from a ski trip to a big snow!
Enjoy! I wish we could have a big snow storm in the PNW this year! We have had plenty of cold drizzles and gray skies. Like you, I think you have to make the most of the season, doing all the indoor things you need/ want to do and enjoy wearing your favorite cold weather pieces.
Funny, my "uniform"
is the same as yours–
leggings or yoga type
pants lined in polar fleece
and a tunic length
sweater, and of course
a variety of boots : )
Embracing the season
is an absolute must. I
do like getting out in it
when it is above 20 degrees.
It's been sub-zero this
week, though, so I'm
doing more dashing and
less enjoying. 20 can't
come soon enough!
Stay cozy.
