Yesterday, I had the distinct privilege of hearing the charming Frances Palmer present her work to our little garden club. Trained as an art historian, she has always created with her hands. First print work and now as a potter and gardener. “I don’t make or grow things to hold onto them, but rather to send them out into the world for others to live with and enjoy.”
We were all deeply moved by her artistry, both in the creating of the containers and the growing and selection of the flowers. Dahlias are her favorites.
Let’s just say, we’re already talking about a road trip to visit her renown gardens and potter’s studio. Here’s a glimpse into her resplendent world.
Melt me. Mold me. Fill me. Use me. I’m tempted to take a pottery class now….or maybe I’ll just start a collection of Frances Palmer Pottery!
Do you know her work? You should!!!
Good Morning Elizabeth. I love Frances's pottery. It is so distinctive and dreamy at the same time!

Absolutely beautiful!
Wow, what an artist she is and how lucky we are to be able to see her gifts here. That road trip to her gardens and studio is one I would like to hitchhike along with! Failing that, I'd love to start a collection of her creations.
Thanks for this bloomingly beautiful post, Elizabeth! XOXO
Elizabeth,
I admire Frances and all her artistry. Her work makes me smile. Such classical shapes given a new fresh breath of air. I would love to take a pottery class too but for now, I think I just would love a new vase for holding branches and buds.

Her work is simply
beautiful. I especially
love the picture of the
hyacinths….I think I am
gravitating towards this
type of simplicity in my
life : )
Hope your 2014 is off
to a wonderful start!

I did not know of Francis, but her work is stunning!
Wow – such simple but gorgeous arrangements. I clicked over to check out her pottery – it is remarkable. Thanks for sharing this, Elizabeth! xoxo
As beautiful as her pottery work is, I really admire the flowers. That gorgeous white lilac would fit perfectly in my wedding bouquet! Thank you for sharing with us!

The fourth photo — I think they're white poppies — in a white vase, actually garnered an audible gasp from me. Stunning.
