Springtime is practically synonymous with the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C.
The festival runs March 20-April 13, 2014, but due to this year’s difficult winter, the blooms are more likely to bloom in April than they are in March.
Anyone who knows me in real life, knows that I’ve experienced my share of travel woes. But, every once in a while, I get lucky. Such was the case, two years ago, when our family planned a visit to D.C. for the Centennial celebration of the cherry blossoms. We hit the peak!
These are my own photos from that glorious few days. We paddled boated in the tidal basin to get a true panoramic view, but seeing them up close, in mass, was magical.

Spectacular!!! I am supposed to go to DC for 2 days in April and was secretly excited they are blooming late this year but feel badly for the thousands who are flocking there now from all over to not see them in all their glory…what a sight!! Best gift the Japanese gave us! (well…sushi too:)

I love DC for many reasons, and could find myself living in Georgetown happily. The Cherry blossoms are an added beautiful charm, and always heralds the first signs of spring. Experienced them many times over the years, and for a Chicago girl it is a sight to be seen.
Wow, Elizabeth, your photos are just gorgeous. Cherry blossoms are magical – like puffy pink clouds or graceful ballerinas. How lucky to be in DC at their peak! We have dear friends who recently relocated to DC, I'm so happy to know that they have this beauty to look forward to and am wondering if I can fit in a visit during blossom season!

Glorious shots! I lived in DC for a few years an remember the magic of walking around the tidal basin beneath these blooms. We are so in synch, stop by the market to see the branch my daughter rescued from the gardeners trucks, they are bring such beauty and fragrance to my courtyard! So beautiful, I love going into the D&D this time of year because the showrooms have huge vases filled with Branches and blossoms! No blooms here yet though!
Considering how bad the initial menus were for My-Hime, these come across pretty well even if they are simple. A static image of the characters is through the center while brightly colored red and blue borders are around it which also contains the various selections. No prada handbags music is associated with the menus though which gives it an even more basic feel. Access rolex replica times are nice and fast and with no transitional animations it all moves about very quickly. The disc did not read our players' language presets unfortunately and defaulted to chanel replica English with sign/song subtitles.
