I think we underestimate the little things. I love small things…with meaning. Maybe that’s why I like party favors for a dinner party, a scavenger hunt on the morning of my sons’ birthdays, love notes hidden in a suitcase for a traveling spouse.
The sign above was a gift from my mother when she was visiting for Mother’s Day. At that time, the plans for our arbor, gate and fence were just that. Plans. I spotted the little sign at Terrain, where we were browsing and having lunch. She immediately decided to get it for me and I’ve been holding onto it for months. Finally, it is hung in its proper place.
So, if you’ll indulge me today….this one is for my mom. Who lives rather far away.
Every time I see it, I think of her. So, thanks Mom. I really do think of you every day!
What kind of little thing do you enjoy or like doing for someone else? It’s probably not as small as you think!
So sweet and even sweeter knowing it was from your mom! Everything looks beautiful…and in full bloom!
And I agree often those very small subtle gestures that we don't give much thought to can sometime brighten someone's entire day!
Hope you enjoy this wonderful weather…so my speed:)
How adorable, I love fenced in yards with lovely gates!! No wonder the hydrangea look so good no deer to eat them
So cute, it is perfect for the white fence, and the yard looks amazing. Mother's always know best.
sweet and perfect! That describes the gate sign and you and your mom!
xo
It really is the small stuff that matters, Elizabeth…your garden gate is beautiful and even more so with the sweet sign courtesy of your mother. Enjoy the rest of your week! xoxo
What a sweet post for your Mom, Elizabeth. Love your gate and your garden looks beautiful!
Sweet!! Lovely post, Elizabeth. That is such a pretty view framed by the arch. Happy September! xo
What a thoughtful gift and one you will see every day! Your gate came out beautifully and love the climbing roses on the arbor.
