Whether you really like the game of football, the awesome ads, halftime entertainment or the snacks….chances are you’ll be watching the Super Bowl this weekend! So, I’ve gathered some of my favorite EASY party elements.
7 layer dip is a classic…but after the first scoop, it starts to look like a mess. Individual portions keep things looking and tasting good. And, it’s built in portion control! Recipe here.
But, it’s not really the Super Bowl that is going to make this a Super Weekend. My oldest son is turning 13 on Sunday and so that basically trumps both the Seahawks and the Patriots. And, instead of a birthday cake he has requested dark chocolate dipped strawberries. So, these caught my eye.
May the balls be fully inflated and the best team win. I’ll be trying to figure out how to score as the mom of a teenage boy!
Have a SUPER weekend!

Makes me wish I was hosting… can I do that as someone who grew up with parents who hosted a "Grey Cup Party"? And the "e" in grey is no typo… that's how Canadian's spell it 🙂
Oh yeah, I can't believe it… 13?! How the heck did that happen? You still look like you could be a new mom pushing a stroller around.
These are all SO much fun! Happy, happy birthday to Tyler!!! Wow – you have a teenager! And how sweet that his birthday choice us chocolate covered strawberries. Enjoy and stay warm!! xoxo
OK one question can I come to your house for the Superbowl? What cute ideas!! I am hosting a small get together and just today planning out what I am going to be serving/making, its all tapas (my favorite) and finger foods….happy birthday to your 13 year old son. Such a great age (translates to they are still under your thumb) lol.
Enjoy your weekend!
Great ideas! We're hosting a small party and I haven't even thought about what we're going to eat. I have to get everything together tomorrow and was hoping inspiration would strike at the grocery store!
Super ideas, Elizabeth. And Happy Birthday to Tyler. (Love that he requested chocolate covered strawberries!) Hope this is a super weekend all around. You know where my sentiments lie!! I think we are going to watch with friends and maybe I will have to bring those individual 7 layer dips. Super-smart.
Here's to the Seahawks, here's to Tyler and here's to you for showing us how to look super amazing and elegant when you are a mom to a teenager! XOXO
All such great football inspired treats!! Love it!
Elizabeth I can see there will be lots of fun going on at your house this Sunday!! Happy Birthday to your teenager!!

Even if you are not a football fan you can't help but get into the spirit of Super Bowl (even if it's for the half time show). We have a new media room with an 80 inch plasma – we are not sports people. But we are happy to host a few real fans for the excitement.
Your idea's are great and so much fun. I love the food displayed on the field.
Enjoy the birthday party.
Elizabeth,
I love how all the attention seems to be on what to serve during Super Bowl weekend. You always have such great ideas.
Super Birthday to T.
Hope your weekend is as super cool as you!

These are great party favors, Elizabeth, and we love the individual three layer dips! We'll be on our feet all day at the NY gift show and would welcome a chance to watch the game. Come over and visit The Buzz – we're giving away a watercolor from Jeanne!

Great ideas! I'm not hosting, just bringing dessert so I will be heading into the kitchen to bake something yummy. Have fun!
Love those ice cream sandwiches!
Elizabeth! HELLO! Good evening to you, pretty Elizabeth!
This is going to be a snug and cozy weekend for many of us, and while watching the game, I just hope there will be much happiness in your homes. We are staying in as well, and these food ideas look GREAT! Yes, I do hope the balls are inflated to code!
I want to thank you so much for coming to visit my post. The past seven years of blogging have literally changed my life. It gave me a forum in which to express myself like I never dreamed. But I made some dear friends with whom I could not imagine my daily life without. Inspiration, growth and fun were had. But like many things, writing goals evolve and time dictates how we will pursue our dreams. If I could, I'd keep blogging AND write in private for future professional growth and publication, but since I work (and I love my work), I had to choose. It was SO hard. But I am staying present by visiting blogs when I can, and will never delete my blog. I hope to self-publish a book of my best blog posts, so keep an eye out for me in the next several months, if you wish to know where my next step will take me.
In the meantime, be well, enjoy your weekend, AND I am so thrilled to hear that your son is still working on his French! BRAVA! And Chinese too? Excellent. This says a lot about him. Many wishes for success to you ALL! Anita
Elizabeth, I love all of your choices for treats and eats for the Super Bowl. I am not very interested in the game but I love party food and of course the commercials!
Happy birthday to your wonderful boy!
Have a great weekend, Elizabeth
