How was your holiday weekend? Fun and relaxing, I hope! Between spending time by the water, the color scheme of the weekend and a conversation about navy lacquered walls….I’ve had NAVY on the brain.
I feel like gray was the color for so long…and I’ve got it in my home, too. But, I’m feeling drawn to something a little more strong. Not the nautical version, but a glammed up, sophisticated navy blue.
This study by Jan Showers has been one of my favorites for years. I love the color contrasts and that she painted the walls and the trim the same rich blue.
Are you feeling a little BLUE now that the long weekend is over? If so….consider feeling NAVY and it might just cheer you up!

I am such a fan, but am always so afraid of using such a dark color. The last image is a favorite!! Happy Monday, Elizabeth!
Elizabeth I adore all of these rooms! I used navy in my son's room years ago and have used a deep peacock blue as well in an entry hallway and study.

I am on board with glossy navy walls too….whats not to love, they are fabulous! Love all the beautiful examples you showed, and so happy you had a great July 4th weekend. Here we were so lucky to escape the rainy weather so it turned out as planned for us too:)
I love Navy decor and these are some stunning examples! I agree with Kristy from Design Chic, although i love it I have always been hesitant to use it. I might just have to try it soon.
Happy to hear that you had a wonderful holiday weekend.
