I still haven’t caught my breath from my two weeks of travel, but am happy that both my boys have made it home from theirs. This was the first time that both our sons were gone at the same time, so it enabled me to make the solo trip to Seattle and then to enjoy some time in Nantucket with my husband.
With no agenda, we meandered the streets on bike, jeep and foot and finally understood the charm that everyone uses to describe this little island. Hydrangeas, window boxes, houses with names and boats abounded….and made me want to return as a family.
If you’ve been, then you know what a special place it is. If you haven’t, it’s really worth all the hype. Here is a just a little of what caught my eye.
Nantucket….we hope to see you again next summer!
We went for our anniversary and loved every second of it – filled with charm and character! So glad you had a great trip! Happy Monday, Elizabeth ~
I have not been to Nantucket but your photos make me wish I were there right now! We have been enjoying discovering Maine since our #2 son has been living there for the past year and a half. So glad that you were able to enjoy some lovely summer travel!
I knew you would love Nantucket just as much as we do! Isn't it absolutely special? You've captured it's charms so well in your photos – and it's fun to see the island in the thick of summer, in all it's hydrangea happiness! We're usually so early in our visits that they haven't even begun to bloom yet. Some day I'd love to stretch out our time there and see summer really come into swing. Glad you had a wonderful stay!
Welcome home to your boys! Glad everyone made it back safe and sound. What wonderful adventures you've all had. I'm sure there are lots of stories to share with each other.
Happy Monday, Elizabeth! Wish we could meet up in those big wicker lounge chairs at the White Elephant for a glass of rosé! XOXO
Elizabeth I have not been and am truly looking forward to going. So idyllic and anywhere by the water works for me! So happy that you had a great time away!
