There are few people who don’t appreciate a beautiful book in a topic close to their heart. And, there’s a book for everyone.
For the Entertainer in your life…inspiration from fashion designer by day/entertaining maven by night (and fellow Texan), Lela Rose, in Pret-A-Party.
For your friend who loves color and inherited her grandmother’s best silver and china…Modern Mix, by Eddie Ross, is a step-by-colorful-step on how to put the glam in grandma’s things!
For the sister who is sticking with her gluten-free/dairy-free diet, but could use some tips on jazzing up dinner, Deliciously Ella, has the photos that will inspire and recipes that you can follow. I’ve tried them, loved them…and I’m not even gluten-free!
She created Olivia Pope and McDreamy, so Shonda Rhimes knows a thing or two about making things happen. Year of Yes…what a fun book for 2016!
For the gardener or just the most elegant person you know…Carolyne Roehm’s newest tome, At Home in the Garden, is sure to have prime placement on their coffee table.
Now, I’m guessing that most of you order your books from Amazon and have them delivered. But, if you like supporting your local bookstore (and I do!), you can wrap your book with pizazz and love and mail it via Media Mail through USPS for a very small amount. You may have known about this, but somehow I just learned about it. As long as the package just contains a book….you are set!
Don’t forget the bookmark!
Hi Elizabeth dear…how is the holiday season treating you? Joyfully, I hope! Books make such wonderful gifts and the suggestion of supporting the local bookstore and wrapping yourself is much needed. It is too easy to click and buy, but much more fun to slow down and enjoy the process of gift buying and giving. Have a beautiful weekend! xoxo
Elizabeth, Thank you for all of the ideas. I have already read Carolyne Roehm’s new book—wonderful! Have a wonderful Holiday season.
