Apologies for the late post today, but re-entry from vacation is never easy! I’m just back from a peppermint-candy colored immersion into what felt like a fantastical stay in Miami. The Faena Miami, barely opened 4 months, is a magical experience designed by Alan Faena, with creative input from Baz Luhrmann and artistic drawings by Juan Gatti. The color, which seems it would be over-the-top, is the perfect combination of exhilaration and chic. The staff, from the porters to the spa staff and every person in between was well trained in the art of hospitality. “Pleasure” was what I heard after any request, large or small.
Their goal is to “curate a magical experience” for you and they do not disappoint! Pool or Beach? That was usually my hardest decision.
The “tree of life” is a centerpiece of the outdoor patio.
The Tierra Santa Spa, complete with sauna, steam, ice chamber and a hammam was another experience that you could enjoy whether or not you are staying at the hotel. Divinely decorated and luxuriously appointed.
We ventured out to a couple of known Miami hotspots but found that we wanted to hurry back to the hotel. In the evenings, there is live music every night in the Living Room, which was an exotically decorated space that made you want to linger with cocktails and take in the show. If you go…definitely make a reservation or you might find yourself giving up your seat! No less than 2 DJs and a live band performed over the course of the evening.
I’m now dreaming of red and white tasseled umbrellas and a ceramic leopard for my house! Special thanks to my friend and travel advisor, Sandy Grodsky, of the inspirational travel blog You May Be Wandering, who found the hotel for me! If you want your own magical getaway, she’s the one to plan it!
Sandy’s mind is totally wandering after reading this amazing post. Wandering just what it would be like to check into an amazing hotel as this and be treated as a queen each day. Just gazing at the beautiful colors of the umbrellas, sparkling white sands, blue water, pools art work. Before dinner, having drinks on the beautiful tiger designed sofa. We are staying only 1 week. But it is just enough time to enjoy everything. Of course we were lucky enough to bring our teenage grandson, as he has not been able to travel with us. Thank you for this most wonderful experience.
Truly a magical place!!!! Cannot wait to go back!!!!!
What a beautiful hotel, Elizabeth. The attention to detail is extraordinary. I love the fiesta – inspired chandelier! I definitely want to escape there.
Elizabeth, I thought I recognized this hotel from one of Sandy’s posts! It looks like a wonderful, colorful place to stay! And it sounds like you had a great time!
Fabulous photos, Elizabeth!! I am thrilled you had a great time…and thank you SO much for the shout out! 🙂
xoxo
Sandy is the best! The Faena Miami looks amazing! I can see in influence of Baz Luhrmann everywhere.
