One of the major benefits of blogging is being part of a community of like minded people. Somewhere along the way, we went from commenting on each other’s blogs to connecting in real life…and these relationships have blossomed over the years.
This past week, Tina of The Enchanted Home (truly, enchanted!) served as hostess-with-the-mostess for 12 of us, to honor and celebrate Kristy Woodson Harvey and her latest novel, Slightly South of Simple (separate post to come on that). You can’t help but feel you’ve entered a home decor fairy tale, as everything, yes everything, is that beautiful, elegant and inviting.
Kristy and her mom, Beth are the voices behind Design Chic and were in NYC on a whirlwind book signing tour. So, of course we all wanted to see them and one another. Also there was Patricia of PVE Design, Jeanne McKay Hartmann, Sandy of You May Be Wandering, Carolyn and Cynthia of Diane James Home, “Katie” of Preppy Empty Nester and Karolyn of The Relished Roost.Beth, Kristy and Jeanne

Tina’s gorgeous dining room table, set with her signature blue and white porcelain.
It’s always fun to see how other people entertain, so here are a few tidbits on how Tina does it. We started with the appetizers and processo in the living room. To find our seats, we picked numbers out of a bowl, which corresponded to numbers at the table. That’s mine…#5. We began with the most delicious tomato soup and then helped ourselves buffet style to quiche, salad and sandwiches. Dessert was later set up in the same place, buffet style. And, those cute little foo dogs…those were our party favors!
We lingered for hours, catching up on things we don’t usually write about on our blogs. Just like old friends.
Hope you enjoyed this peek into the blogging world come to life. Wishing you all an “enchanting” weekend!
