The most fashionable birds flock together…and that is never so true as it is at Laura Vinroot Poole’s fantastical boutique, Capitol, in Charlotte, NC. When I lived in Charlotte, it was a favorite shop of mine…even if I was just browsing! Laura is known for her bold fashion choices and combinations in addition to her love of entertaining in her shop’s inner courtyard.
Her recent fete honoring the mother/daughter designers of the Of Rare Origin jewelry line (whimsical birdcage earrings) was featured in the fall issue of Veranda. The birdcages provided the perfect jumping off point for the dinner’s theme….hanging in a rainbow of colors above the table and miniature ones as place card holders.
Laura has one unique twist on table decor that really stands out. She prefers to do numerous vases of different flowers down the center of the table, but keeps all the flowers in each vase the same. 
Finding one element to really elevate works for a fine dinner party or if you’re just feathering your own nest.
