There was a little surprise today when I opened an order from Sugar Paper. A little package of letterpress questions, known as The Thanksgiving Project, to share with those around your Thanksgiving table. I wrote about it last year, but this year, of all years, seems like one where it bears sharing again. Here are some sample questions.
What are you proud to have accomplished or done this year?
Which memory do you wish you could relive from this year?
What moment of kindness do you remember from this year?
Who inspires you?
I know we all strive to make the most of family or friend gatherings. The MOST beautiful table. The MOST delicious meal. The MOST fabulously clean and decorated house. But, as I get older I realize more and more that it’s MOST important to just slow down and savor time with the people we love most. Plan ahead. Take some shortcuts. Order the sides or pies. Or both! Set the table ahead of time. Know that things won’t always go as planned. Laugh about it. And, always remind yourself what you have to be grateful for.
Sugar Paper is including their little Thanksgiving Project packet in each order placed during November. Or just make up some thought provoking (but not controversial) questions that can bring the conversation back to what really matters. Blessings and gratitude.
