Where did the summer go? I’m always shocked that it’s over and there were still things I had wanted to do. I have found that reflecting on what I DID do is a good way to appreciate the season that is ending and mentally prepare for the one ahead.
From the Garden Walk to watching polo to visiting Franklin Roosevelt’s Presidential Library, to picnics at the beach or relaxing in the garden, I was outside as often as possible. July brought trips for everyone in our family – one son across the pond, one hiking a national park, a Texas visit with old, dear friends, a book launch party for The Subway Girls and 6 college visits. I was on Top of the Rock, floating down a river in Chicago, taking the Acela to Boston and seaside in the Hamptons.
Last summer was about BIG experiences and I found this summer was a collection of smaller ones. It’s interesting how life ebbs and flows. Here’s a look back on some of those moments.
Enjoy this last, long weekend of “summer”! What will you look back on?
Love all your summer pics! they capture the season perfectly….hope your holiday weekend is wonderful!
