Tulips at the Capitol Building
Hopefully, you are enjoying a relaxing day off for Presidents’ Day. This post is from the archives, as it’s just my favorite way to acknowledge Presidents’ Day!
One of the best places to visit with children is Washington, D.C., no matter which party is in power. A few years ago, we took our boys and hit the highlights. But one of the unexpected delights, was seeing tulips all over town, so I snapped these photos.
At the Capitol Building, they were red and white.Along Independence Boulevard, there was an appropriately non-political purple!
The Library of Congress was decorated with white tulips – purity of the documents?!
Outside the Botanical Garden, there was a joyous mix of yellow, orange and pink.
And, finally….a dramatic red at the White House.
Let’s hope our law makers get right back to work on Tuesday. They have a LOT to do!
