Cinco de Mayo – Ole’

Love these super simple Cinco de Mayo desserts I found at Bakers Royale. Corona Beer Pops and Strawberry Margarita Pops.
They are as simple as popping open a “cold one” and pouring into a dixie cup. Freeze for 2 hours. Insert a popsicle stick. Freeze 2 more hours. Garnish with lime.

For the margarita pops, Mike’s Lemonade Classic Margarita mix is recommended. Pick your flavor!

Just don’t let the kids have one!
How are you celebrating today?

Uno, Dos, Tres, Cuatro…..CINCO!

Whether you’re 5 or 55, nothing says Fiesta like a pinata!

So, wherever you are today, I hope that Cinco de Mayo is a fiesta for you! I, for one, will make sure that I get some guacamole and chips (I’ll probably save the margarita for the weekend!)

Here are some favorite images of our trip to visit family in Manzanillo, Mexico (the beach made famous by a corn-rowed Bo Derek in the movie 10) at the end of last year…including a fiesta they planned for Carter & Ty.

Isn’t there just something about a sunset by the ocean?
Will you celebrate Cinco de Mayo or is it just another Wednesday?

Red Roses

2bac1188c7d8938517afe191255c9a25The first weekend in May brings two delightfully colorful events. You can celebrate one or both. The Kentucky Derby and Cinco de Mayo. I must confess to favor the latter, as I am and always will be Texan at heart and a lover of Tex Mex. So if it icomes down to mint julep vs margarita… can guess which one wins in my book.

However, I do love the flower that is at the center of the Run for the Roses. And, I think you could have a party that has roses as its theme as well as its centerpiece. So, in honor of this weekend’s Kentucky Derby….I give you red roses!57b6f4b482a4967658cd6c26bf7b8797 679f2722021f2cbfb405fd91b9bed2ac a747b1128abbe2ab811e3e38327e73fae3fd027b533d96a356ad47ff6781bf01Good luck this weekend….with whatever you do! And, with whatever you celebrate. Olé!!! (wink, wink).
