Friday Flowers – The Flower Guy

Screen Shot 2017-01-26 at 9.59.30 PMDid you happen to notice some Springtime blooms adorning the latest J.Crew catalog? I’m completely charmed by them and wanted to learn more.

Two years ago, Michael De Feo, aka @theflowerguy, decided to doctor a J. Crew ad at a bus stop in NYC and instagram it. He thought they would be upset. J.Crew regrammed it. And, then….they invited him to collaborate with them on their latest collection. Screen Shot 2017-01-26 at 10.04.05 PMThe ad that started it all.Screen Shot 2017-01-26 at 10.12.26 PMScreen Shot 2017-01-26 at 10.12.41 PMScreen Shot 2017-01-26 at 10.15.26 PMThumbScreen Shot 2017-01-26 at 10.04.21 PM Screen Shot 2017-01-26 at 10.05.01 PM

Wishing you flowers where you don’t expect them and a very happy weekend ahead!

Artist Spotlight – Laura Park

ferrisbueller40x401700With the pending political news of the week, I thought we could all use with a bright spot. The abstract floral artwork of Laura Park breaths color and life into any space.

Laura set out to be an elementary school teacher long before painting, but her interior design interests took over when she opened her retail space, Laura Park Interiors, in Charlotte, NC. Now painting full time, Laura’s playful style seems to harken back to her days as a teacher, yet her sophisticated colors and abstract visions definitely take on a more learned approach as she explores a wide variety of still life’s and color studies.jespersen jpeg-1 longstreeti30x301200amyvermillioninteriorssummermorning48x482200Laura’s artwork is so pretty and calming…I need more wall space!

A Monogram for All Seasons

If you follow me on instagram (@prettypink2lips) you may have already seen the spectacular set of monograms that talented artist and my gracious friend, Patricia van Essche created for me. One for each season! Years ago, Patricia had created a beautiful “tulip” monogram for me, which I’ve loved and used in a number of ways. And, over the years, I’ve watched her create unique and stunning monograms for others.

Recently, I saw a Fall monogram she created for a client and remarked how fun it would be to have one for every season, as I already had one for Spring. The next thing I knew…..this set of Seasonal Monograms arrived in the mail.img_0345 img_0339 img_0342 img_0314I can not wait to use these as gift tags, note cards, stickers, etc…!

To have Patricia (aka PVE Design) create a special monogram for you or as a gift for someone (think ahead to holiday!), you can reach her on her website or in her etsy shop.
