Mid Week Musings

Like most of you, I find myself running in multiple directions. This week is no different! So, today, I thought I’d just share some of my mid week musings. Where I’ve been. What I’m loving. What I’m working on. And, something for my Texas readers!

You’ll recognize the famed Bergdorf Goodman above, in a photo I snapped at the corner of 5th Avenue & 57th Street. I’m always drawn to this remarkable retail shop, but was struck at the signature “gift wrap” it gave itself. Celebrating 111 years of swoon worthy shoes, bags, clothes and objets.

Next, my newest delight are these “french m&ms”. They are made with 70% cacao (so, that’s healthier, right?!) and are packaged so well that they would be a darling party favor. Pour them in a silver dish and you have a glam little dessert.

I’ve been on “hold” when it comes to decorating our new playroom. I loved the balance of whimsy and sophistication that Lilly Bunn Weekes gave this NY apartment, which appeared in LONNY September 2012. I have a middle schooler and one in elementary…so I need to balance youth with pre-teen. Love what appears to be a Stark rug, that could grow with any age.
Finally, for my Texas readers and friends….my favorite Dallas shop, Blueprint, is headed down the highway to San Antonio. 3 days only. If you live anywhere nearby, I KNOW it will be worth the trip.
What’s caught your eye lately?

Kelly Wearstler – Fashion

Was it really 6 years ago, that Kelly Wearstler redesigned the Bergdorf Goodman lunchtime eatery, BG, into something spectacular?
For anyone who lived or visited NYC prior to this transformation, the former eatery was located on the 5th floor and rather bland. No view. No windows. But, oh…..the tuna salad sandwich was out of this world. (My office was located 2 doors down on 57th St, so I could be found in that location numerous times a week….when I wasn’t salivating over shoes).
Fast forward….not only has Kelly given us all a slice of NYC heaven in the form of the bodacious BG restaurant and a funky little home accessories boutique on the 7th floor, but she has launched her ready-to-wear line, exclusively for Bergdorf Goodman. Seems she understands the mantra…”dance with the one who brought you”.
Who wants to meet for lunch at BG? We might even spy Bergdorf’s latest style star!

Friday Fashion – Spot on

The Coveteur, in partnership with Elle magazine,  recently profiled Roopal Patel, senior editor of women’s accessories for Bergdorf Goodman, on their blog.

You can imagine that a woman in charge of selecting the best shoes, bags and bangles for the most illustrious store in the world would have great picks in her personal closet….and now we can see for ourselves….she does.

Roopal loves color. Statement pieces. Timeless classics and updated silhouettes.

And spots. She’s as wild about leopard print shoes as I am. She adds a new pair each year because you can wear them 365 days a year and they go with everything. (Amen, sister!)
Here are hers.
And, here are mine!
Leopard print shoes….collected over the years. Some are dressy. Some less so. But, I’m wild about all of them.
What fashion pieces are you wild about in your closet?
