Bikes with Baskets

0f3b8213c792d629fa68d67140df4249One of the best parts of Spring is getting to be outside more. And, that’s usually when I’ll start pulling out my bike with the basket on the front. I wish it was pink – it’s not – but, it is pretty cute and the basket just begs for flowers. As part of my “spring cleaning”, I think I’m going to dust off my bike, so that on the first pretty day, I can peddle it it town and fill the basket with a bouquet of blooms!

These darling bikes provide loads of inspiration!8b5531e0ca658df79b6bd5585aaf110d 622ebc2bd2c1ff3c6edba9ede6852fd0 bd603ba9f60780969ff372cf4f1e30da my bike with flowers pink bike with flowers yellow bikeWhat would you put in your bicycle’s basket and where would you want to ride?!

Ta Da!

Before I even started blogging, I knew who I wanted to create my blog header — the fabulously talented Patricia van Essche of pve design fame.

I first became acquainted with Patricia when a friend of mine told me to check out her website because a picture of my house was on it.
Can you imagine? That was one of the most fun surprises I have EVER had! Only to be matched by Patricia sending me the actual drawing, which happily hangs on the wall by my kitchen table, where I’m typing right now.
Fast Forward —-

I start blogging. I put a picture from my garden up as a blog header placeholder. I start working with Patricia — tulips, tulips….what to do with tulips?
Then, the bike post.

Followed, by these adorable cards created for me by blogger friend, Alexis, at jac’

Separately, Patricia, had created the header with the tulips spilling over my bike basket. Meant to be?

I knew I liked it, but we sat down together this week to see what else she had in that creative mind of hers — Patricia created as we talked — it was amazing to watch her work! This image emerged from a monogrammed napkin that was on the table.

I’ll share the other images in time….but for now, I hope you’ll think of this blog as “delivering ideas on living, giving and entertaining with style and grace”.

What do you think of my new look?

Let’s chat soon….I’m going to go for a bike ride!

Hip My Ride

For my birthday last year, my husband “hipped up” my neighborhood ride, with this Electra bike. Our neighborhood is great for riding bikes….and it is fun to take a spin with the boys so they can burn off some energy before bedtime.

You certainly don’t need Donald Trump as your Daddy to afford one, but I feel I’m in good company, since it’s the same bike Ivanka choose, sans basket, as detailed on Tory Burch’s style guide.

Now, that the youngest has his training wheels off….perhaps we’ll venture into town and I can actually buy a baguette to put in the cute little basket! May is, after all, National Bike Month.

I’ve come a long way since my banana seat hand-me-down with the orange safety flag!

How do you roll?
