Organization – May Designs

Screen Shot 2017-01-15 at 9.23.37 PMHow’s your January going?! It’s flying by, right?

We’re half way (half way!) through the first month of the year, so it’s a good time to check in and see how your calendar skills, organization techniques and goal setting is going. Are you doing well or need a quick reset? We all have to do it. Great intentions need constant tending in order to move us forward.

One of my favorite designers for making all this organization more colorful and fun is May Designs. Originally known for their customizable, soft-sided notebooks, they have everything from desk and wall calendars, gratitude journals and even fun planner stickers to keep the task of staying organized easy, creative and affordable.

One of my favorite products is their desk calendar. Once the month is over, flip over the card, cut it in half and it is meant to be used to send a note to someone. Pretty clever!Screen Shot 2017-01-15 at 9.24.49 PM

Day by Day: Great Calendars to Give for 2015

Most of us keep our daily lives planned on our electronic devices…syncing all of them, so we can stay organized. But, I find  a desk calendar as charming, decorative and helpful. I often need a reminder as to what the date is and enjoy having calendars in places where I may not have my computer.

Personally, I’ve been a fan of Karen Adams Designs for years and that is what you’ll find on the desk in my bedroom. Definitely pretty enough to give! The boxed set is $59 with either a gold or silver easel. Refills are $29.

New this year, is an over-the-top limited edition calendar that is really a monthly gift within a gift. A hand crafted lucite stand is included and then each month is separately wrapped and labeled. Based upon the standard 2015 calendar, these versions are embellished with glitter, ribbons, rhinestones, etc…This one is priced much higher at $175, so is a very special gift!

One of the best value calendars (at $28), and definitely one of the cutest is the Dabney Lee custom calendar. You can choose to add a name or monogram and which month to start on. You don’t have to start it in January, making it a great gift any time of year.

Finally, I am going through a pineapple phase….just love them! They say welcome. They mean hospitality. They taste great. They have great texture….ok, you get the point. They also make a great motif for a calendar, as designed by Linda & Harriett.
You can choose the letterpress version at $34, or…..

try this cool wrapping paper version at $49. After each month is over, you can use the paper to wrap a present or two. Perfect for your eco-friendly friends.

No matter how you track and count down your days….just make them count!

Organize in Style

Summer may be in full swing, but walk into many stores and you’ll be greeted with a sign that says, “Back to School“! It’s kind of like Halloween candy appearing in August and holiday decor appearing next to the pumpkin carving kits. It just seems early.

But, then I remind myself, it’s never too early to get organized and I always feel the desire for sharpened pencils and a brand new notebook around this time of year.

I stumbled upon a grown up version that had me doing double takes. The Day Designer by Whitney English ($55) is a year long calendar that takes organization beyond what to do when, but a tool that helps you decide what to do when based upon your authentic values, skills and desires. In other words, intentional living starts every morning. By prioritizing your days, weeks, months and years we can design our time so that we are truly living our best life.

Whitney’s vision that led to the design of this stylish calendar and planner.

If you don’t think this is the perfect set up for you, but like it for a friend or relative, take a look at these limited edition monogrammed versions! Order now for delivery by November 15th and you have a perfect holiday gift!!

Here are some additional organization tools ($14) from Whitney that could make your life easier!
