Black Toast by Emma Bridgewater

6409646e5859f5827342f76b3216b7aeEmma Bridgewater makes the cutest pottery patterns! As I pack away my heart pattern by her, I’m looking to others that are more usable year road. One of my favorites is called Black Toast. This is every day stuff…especially perfect for a leisurely weekend breakfast or brunch.

I think this is especially perfect for a host/hostess gift if you are making an overnight stay. I started a collection for dear friends  when I visited this summer. Now, when I’m stumped as what to take as a gift…I’ll just add to their collection!3b9c2ef2d320e40bad6edf551b5c09ad 49d9b0e40c3c6be216f4cb2392528b7a 365da1e43ffaaa7c1104fadc35edb058 785008e354d0b4e2befc0d858f7bd75a ce4827164cedbd7b66dc770c60d2732c dcf6504dffc30f9ba86a5e5c063cd8edThe other good thing…this pattern will literally go with any kitchen or color scheme! It’s perfect for anyone. Some things are just…black and white!

Saluting the Red, White and Blue

Parades, memorials, flags flying, stars and stripes, the red, white and blue. All of these things come to mind on this Memorial Day. I love embracing a holiday and especially one that has so much meaning.

When I stumbled upon this Emma Bridgewater star pattern, I had to snap it up. From Memorial Day to the 4th of July, first day of school (it’s our school color) to “you’re a star” breakfasts…I know I’ll have fun creating memorable tablescapes.

Here’s a peek at how I’m using it this weekend. Placemats are La Gallina Matta from Protocol. Napkins are Tag. Flatware is Sabre. Rattan charger from Pier 1. True high low mix.

Sending gratitude to our veterans and armed services and a sunny day for celebrating to all!

Let’s hear it for the red, white and blue!
