Fiesta Friday

IMG_8511Hola! It’s the weekend and it’s time to start thinking Cinco de Mayo. Last year, I introduced you to my favorite source for fun, fiesta-inspired party items, Lula Flora. You can see that post here.

This year, they’ve upped their game with fiesta confetti (I do love confetti!) and custom pinatas ready for mailing. They would be perfect to send an invitation for Cinco de Mayo or a casual fiesta. You could stuff it full of little treats…not just candy.

I customized my pint-sized pinatas (pick as many colors as you like and 1 metallic) …and then stumbled across the matching embroidered cocktail napkins in Dallas at Madison. You won’t find them on their website, so give them a call (214-528-8118) if you need some for the upcoming holiday.IMG_8533 IMG_8506Of course, this was a great opportunity to practice my margarita-making skills. I did a straight forward recipe, but want to try grapefruit margaritas next time.IMG_8529IMG_8508 IMG_8527M is for margaritas!! Hope your weekend feels like one big fiesta!

It’s Friday, It’s Fall, It’s All Good

What is it about Fridays that make them one of the happiest days of the week?! I don’t even have a traditional job, but I love the feeling of a Friday. Work nearly done. Almost time for fun. Family time. Friend time. Together time.

One of my favorite things about having blog friends all around the country is the chance to “see” what’s happening/blooming/of interest in a different geographical area. So, I thought it might be fun for some of you to see what things look like here. These are shots I took this week at my favorite local nursery, McArdles, in Greenwich, a four generation, family owned business.

Here’s wishing you a glorious autumn weekend, whether you’re embracing pumpkins, mums or ornamental cabbages. It’s all pretty fantastic!

TGIF!

This & That

Cheers….it’s Friday!! The winding down of the work week and the anticipation of leisure.

Today, I have a little bit of this and that for your weekend reading. First, I wanted to announce the winner of the Angela’s Garden gardening glove give away. Congratulations to my talented friend and fellow Westchester blogger, Patricia of pve design!!! Let me know what size and color of the classic glove you would like and we’ll get those sent right over!!

Next, with Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and graduations soon upon us, it always helps to have fresh gift ideas. You will find them in spades in this new guide, to&from, curated by stylish bloggers, many of whom you probably know.

Finally, I am honored to have my home featured as an “inspired home” on the always colorful and visually delicious blog, The French Tangerine. Many of the photos you may have seen, but I have to admit it’s fun to see someone else’s take on things. Honestly, I think Jan makes my home look better than I do. Hop over to take a look and I know you’ll find tons of inspiration from many of her other featured homes.

What’s inspiring you this weekend?
